SUNDAY WORSHIP UPDATE

As COVID-19 infections are increasing, our churches are still closed and we don't have a definite date of when it will be safe to worship in-person.

We will therefore continue to worship together online on Sunday morning, 10:00 a.m. or whenever you are able to join us for the foreseeable future.
UPDATE ON COMMUNION SERVICES

The pastors received a couple questions recently regarding "when will communion be celebrated"?

We will hold communion on the first Sunday of every month beginning Sunday, August 2.

There may be times when an additional communion may be held and we will announce that ahead of time so you may be prepared.
AUGUST SERMON SERIES
Participate in a Sunday Worship Service
Would you be interested in participating in an upcoming Sunday service by reading a verse, playing music, or offering a prayer? We are looking for people throughout Open Door Churches to join in by recording a piece for our worship times together. Our worship coordinators can talk you through how to video yourself and upload it to our Dropbox folder. Simply   email Pastor Alyssa   and let her know you're interested.
TOWN HALL with the PASTORS
We are creating a town hall for people to ask the pastors questions. It will be prerecorded and released in early August. Do you have a question you want to ask? No video is required. Just send your questions to one of the pastors or  [email protected] The finished question and answer sessions will be released in the near future! We will let you know and send out the link!

Update on Trinity's Phase Two!
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. -   Psalm 46: 1, NRSV

The  Bishop is allowing the to move into Phase 2   of the   Re-imagining Life Together  area-wide plan but ONLY   IF  we have a DS-approved plan for Phase 2 can we begin to implement that plan. Trinity's Re-imaginiing Life Together Team is working on submitting an acceptable application for Phase 2. Their first attempt at a reopening plan was not accepted by the District Superintendent, so it was back to the drawing board. Jerry Rempel and Paul Hampson are talking with other Open Door Churches about their plans with the hopes of getting Trinity's Phase 2 plan accepted by our DS. We will keep you updated as information becomes available.

NOTE: Open Door Churches has a team that is working with each church to develop plans for reopening. F or the time being t he Clergy team plans online worship services to continue indefinitely.

STAY WELL, STAY SAFE, WEAR YOUR MASK and STAY HOME
 $OLLARS & CENTS
by Pat Gillespie, Treasurer

With the help of a quarterly draw from the Foundation, July came out better than expected. While pledges are still higher than budgeted, non-pledged contributions continue to fall below the line. Lower expenses also helped us stay in the black.

2020 Financial Status through July 31, 2020
*The budget is designed to reflect seasonal fluctuations in income and expenses and to zero out at the end of the year.
If you have questions or comments please give me a call, 503-798-2599 or email me .

The work of Trinity UMC continues! Please remember to give your tithes, gifts, and offerings to keep vital ministries going.

UPDATE ON REOPENING
Lord's Cupboard

Jerry Rempel is working on reopening plans for Lord's Cupboard.
Reopening Lord's Cupboard involves meeting all the safety and sanitation requirements in the areas of the church which house the food bank.
The plan is to provide a drive through operation at the north church entrance from the school parking lot. Pre-assembled bags would be passed out. Currently this is being done by school volunteers from the Four Corners gym area during the noon hour on Wednesdays. We are hopeful to have a once a week operation on Saturdays beginning on September 5th. We will keep you posted on the progress!
