In Case You Missed It
Safe2Say Something
Trinity participates in the state-wide initiative Safe2Say, which facilitates anonymous reports concerning safety issues. Reports go through a state dispatcher who determines whether reports should be forwarded to the local police department or to the school. Safe2Say is not a place to register mild complaints about other students or Trinity policies. We ask that you contact a member of the Trinity Administration with these issues and reserve Safe2Say for matters of student safety.

Spiritual Reflection
by Deacon Scott Root
Gospel for Sunday, September 19, 2021 – 25th  Sunday in Ordinary Time
Jesus and his disciples left from there and began a journey through Galilee, but he did not wish anyone to know about it. He was teaching his disciples and telling them, "The Son of Man is to be handed over to men and they will kill him, and three days after his death the Son of Man will rise." But they did not understand the saying, and they were afraid to question him. They came to Capernaum and, once inside the house, he began to ask them, "What were you arguing about on the way?" But they remained silent. They had been discussing among themselves on the way who was the greatest. Then he sat down, called the Twelve, and said to them, "If anyone wishes to be first, he shall be the last of all and the servant of all." Taking a child, he placed it in their midst, and putting his arms around it, he said to them, "Whoever receives one child such as this in my name, receives me; and whoever receives me, receives not me but the One who sent me."
--Mark 9:30-37

Reflection
"If anyone wishes to be first, he shall be the last of all and the servant of all." Our culture tells us that we must keep up with the Joneses or always seek to bring fame to ourselves. Jesus' message for this week is simple. We must have a childlike (not childish) faith, and serve others. A childlike faith means that we trust in him and are not jaded by life. We love Jesus and others with a pure love, a pure intention. Service is the expression of this love. Let us pray to God this week to help us love him with a childlike love and to serve him through service to one another.
Video of the Week
Prayer for the Week - The Prayer Thank You God!
Dear Loving and Compassionate God, Giver of all gifts, we pray especially today for the mercy and love You give us. Open our hearts and minds to You. Give us the grace to accept Your mercy. As we live each day, we pray for those less fortunate, especially those who are hurting, and whose wounds need to be healed. Help us become involved in ways that show them how deeply we care. Give us the personal courage to listen to their concerns and help them find the solutions to which they are entitled as Your children and our brothers and sisters. Amen.
