We would like to extend an invitation to the memorial service for Richard Schroeder tomorrow, Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11am. Please reach out to the church office with any questions.
Street Closures
Please be advised that Central Blvd from Magnolia Ave and Rosalind Ave will be closed on Sunday, May 1. Please use caution as you drive to and from church and allow extra time for alternate routes.
May Day Congregational Picnic
The first annual May Day Congregational Picnic will be held THIS SUNDAY, May 1st, 2022, after the 11:15am service. The Fellowship/Outreach Ministry Team will provide hamburgers and hotdogs with old fashioned fixings. The congregation is asked to bring side dishes and desserts as indicated below:

A-H: Salads
I-P: Pasta Salads
Q-Z: Chips and Desserts

Please drop your item(s) off in the Fellowship Hall/Kitchen before your church service.

Activities for the day include field games (three legged race, buck pong, corn hole toss, etc.) and a silent auction on themed baskets (such as a prayer basket, wine basket, sports baskets, etc.). Baskets will be valued at $50 and over, so please bring your wallet and bidding tool with you to the picnic. Proceeds will be split between the Pastor's Discretionary Fund and the Fellowship/Outreach Ministry team to cover the operating expenses. A free-will offering will also be taken.

Please come join us for great fellowship, food, and fun!! Questions?? Contact the church office.
Campus Security and Safety
For everyone who has a key that gives you access to the church property, please be advised that the alarm is automatically turned off at 7am; attempting to unlock and enter any buildings before that will result in the alarm being set off. If for any reason the alarm is set off, please wait on the premises for the police to arrive and inform them that you are a church member with access to the premises and that you accidentally set off the alarm.

If you unlock a door or turn on any lights after business hours, please relock the door and turn off the lights when you exit that space. All doors are locked at the end of the business day and no one is checking later in the evening to make sure the buildings are secure.

We appreciate your help in keeping our campus safe and secure at all times! Please direct any questions or concerns to the church office.
Food and Funds on the Fifth Sunday
As always, on any fifth Sunday of a month, we will be collecting food donations for a local food pantry (dry and canned goods only, not expired) and funds for the Pastor's discretionary fund assisting those dealing with immediate financial emergencies. Bring in those dollars and BOGOs on May 20! Thank you.
Retirement of Mary Hohman
For the last 23 years, Mary Hohman has served on the Trinity campus in the Child Development Center in varying capacities. She has been a toddler teacher, a receptionist, and a CDC director. Her last official day will be June 3, 2022, as she enters the best time of her life, retirement. On behalf of the entire Trinity family, we want to thank her for her years of dedicated service. For the last 15 of those 23 years, Patty has had the pleasure of working with Mary and she can’t imagine what June 6th will feel like without her. When Patty thinks of Mary the first word that comes to mind is "kind". However, that doesn't do her justice because
she is that and many other things. She is kind, smart, caring, respectful, hardworking, ethical, fair, loyal, and not afraid to show how she feels. She is a friend, a confident, and to top it all off she loves the Lord! Please join us in thanking her for her commitment to your children, our teachers and Trinity Lutheran Church and School. Miss Mary, we love you and we will miss you. Enjoy this special time, but please come back and visit.
Sponsor a Child's Bible
Do you know the purpose statement of Trinity's Child Development Center? We are very, very grateful for what Trinity Downtown is able to provide to local children and families through the CDC. The purpose statement is:

Trinity Lutheran School's Child Development Center
nurtures the development of the whole child
from a core foundation of faith,
preparing them spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally
in partnership with their family
for future academic success and to lead purpose-filled lives for Christ.

So, in keeping with our purpose, each year Trinity Downtown gives a brand new children's Bible, The Jesus Storybook Bible, to every child who graduates from our four VPK classes. As these children leave our Lutheran child care center and begin Kindergarten at a new school, we send with them, and their families, the best gift we can give - a foundation of faith, nurturing, and the Word of God -- with a note inside that will remind them for years to come of their Trinity Family!

Each Bible is $7 or a case of 20 for $139. Please consider sponsoring one or more Bibles for these children. Checks can be sent to the office or dropped in the offering plate with VPK BIBLES written in the memo line.
Childcare Is Back!
Thanks to Ethan and Claudia Kallesen, Trinity is thrilled to offer childcare for infants through age 4 during Sunday morning worship (8:30am-12:30pm). Childcare will be held in the basement of the church. Questions? Contact the church office.
