For Your Safety

We are excited for some repairs to the plexi-glass over the stained glass windows in the sanctuary that will be occurring soon. The plexi-glass will be replaced and everything around the windows will be recalked.

In preparation for these repairs, scaffolding has been set up on the west side of the sanctuary. Please be advised of this and pay special attention to the following:

  1. The external door to the undercroft MAY NOT be accessed while the scaffolding is in place. Please do not enter and/or exit the undercroft via the external door.
  2. If you are entering the premises from the north parking lot behind the sanctuary, please watch your head as you walk under and around the scaffolding.
  3. Parents, please make sure your children stay away from the scaffolding. Under no circumstances is anyone to be climbing on or playing near it.

If you have questions, please contact the church office.

Please see the pictures below for a progress report:

Family Fun Night

Trinity's next Family Fun Night will be held on Friday, September 16, from 6:30pm-8:30pm. All ages from young to old are welcome to join in on some fun and games, whether board games or card games. The main event for the night is bingo with prizes that include nostalgia candy, "a blast from the past," and gift cards from various locations.

The Fellowship and Outreach team will be providing "A Chili Cook-Off" for dinner. Let's see who wins the First Annual Cook-Off Trophy! Attendees are asked to bring a dessert. A free-will offering will be taken to help cover operating expenses as well as for the Pastor's Discretionary Fund.

This month will also include a themed basket on display for a raffle drawing by the name "A.S.A.P.: Always Say A Prayer." So bring your $1 bills and play your heart out! Baskets change each month, but the purpose remains the same: to raise money to purchase gazebos for the courtyard.

Please contact the church office with any questions.

New Foundations Class
Trinity will be offering a Foundations Class beginning September 10. If you or someone you know is interested in joining Trinity or wants information about the Lutheran faith, this is the class for you! An introduction to Christian teaching and the Lutheran faith, the purpose of this class is to provide the information needed to understand what Lutherans believe and decide whether Trinity is the church for you. Joining Trinity after completing this class is not required, but our hope is that you will find this to be a wonderful community where you can be involved and grow spiritually.

Meetings will occur September 10-November 5 from 4:00pm-5:30pm in Loggia 2. If you are interested in the class or need more information, please RSVP by September 5, 2022 by emailing the church office.

For anyone who may want to participate but is not available when we are meeting or is not comfortable meeting in person, we are working on an online option that will give you the same information but can be completed on your own. However, we encourage you to attend in person if possible as you will have the opportunity to interact with the others in the class and become connected to people at the church who are learning alongside you. If you are interested in this online option, please contact the church office at [email protected]

Peace Serving in Uvalde, TX

Peace Comfort Dog has been called to serve in Uvalde, TX. In total, 26 LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs and their teams from 11 states will deploy to Uvalde to be present with children and staff as they return to school.

During May and June of 2022, thirteen LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs and handlers deployed to Uvalde, Texas, for two weeks to be a calming and comforting presence to the families and community after the horrific shooting at Robb Elementary, taking the precious lives of 19 students and two teachers.

However, LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry’s mission of serving and caring for Uvalde does not end there. LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs and their handlers have been invited to return to Uvalde by the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District.

The K-9s and their teams will be present at each of the District’s nine schools for three weeks each morning, from September 6 to September 23, to be a calming and comforting presence for the students as they return to school. They will also be available to the staff and parents to walk with them during their healing process.

Peace Comfort Dog will be part of Wave 3, September 18-24. Team handlers Dave and Judy Green, along with Top Dog Paul Soost will travel with Peace.

How can you help? First, pray! Please pray for the parents, children, and teachers of Uvalde as school begins and the community continues to grieve the loss of nineteen students and two teachers taken tragically from them. Please pray that the LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs will help bring a calming and comforting

distraction. Please pray for the teams traveling.

If you would like to make a donation to LCC to help with the deployment to Uvalde, you can also contribute to the following funds:

*Please note that these funds help support all 26 teams traveling.

Team Peace appreciates your continued prayers and support! Thanks so much!

LWML Sunday

Each of us has faced challenges and circumstances greater than our own strength, but in Christ, Who is for us and with us, we are already more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) Sunday will encourage all hearers of the Word to remember that Christ’s victory is already ours through baptism. Because of that, we can confidently live each day trusting in Christ.

Our congregation will have the opportunity to gather together in worship under the theme “For Us and With Us,” based on Romans 8:31-39, in celebration of LWML on October 1 and 2, 2022. We will display some of our completed quilts on front and back pews and also our banner with our Mission Statement completed by Norma Smith for Trinity's 100th Anniversary in 2018.

New Adult Sunday School Class

Beginning on September 18, Pastor Doug will be leading a study for middle schoolers, high schoolers, and adults entitled "I Don't Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist" based on the book by Frank Tureck and Norman Geisler by the same title. A synopsis of the content is below.

We live in a world that is caustic to Christianity, one that causes doubts, creates confusion, defies the existence of God, and denies His right to rule. So what is true? This book will cover topics such as the following but will be presented in a discussion format:

  • How do you define atheist? Christianity?
  • What is truth? Is there absolute truth
  • Are miracles possible?
  • Why do miracles occur?
  • What is the greatest miracle?
  • Does science agree with the Bible?
  • Was there really a BIG BANG?
  • Where did God come from?
  • How and why did we get here?
  • Is the Bible true?
  • If God is good why does evil exist?
  • Why do we believe in Christ’s resurrection?

If you want to follow along in the book or the study guide, we recommend purchasing your book ASAP.

New Adult Sunday School Class
