Trinity Weekly News
Trinity's mission is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ through ministries which strengthen and equip people for Christian witness and service
in downtown, metropolitan Orlando and the world.

Operation Christmas Child
This year our Oktoberfest Service Project will be packing shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. To prepare, we are collecting donations in the Narthex now. Donation items are for either a Girl or Boy in age categories: 2–4, 5–9, or 10–14. Each box needs a large “wow” item such as a soccer ball with pump or stuffed animal, then can be filled with other fun toys, hygiene items, and school supplies.FULL LIST OF GIFT SUGGESTIONS: https://s3.amazonaws.com/static.samaritanspurse.org/occ/images/occ-how-to-pack/d/gift-suggestions-age-and-gender.pdf

This is a FANTASTIC opportunity for us to participate in an outreach effort that will literally reach thousands of children in need world-wide! Donations can be brought in all through October, then the packing party will happen at Oktoberfest. You can also take a box for your home, small group, or to your office to collect and pack on your own.

Oktoberfest
Are you ready!? Friday, October 25 from 5pm to 8pm. Join us for live music, great food (Green Coat Catering and Chi Phi Food truck), the Kid-garten with multiple game stations and giant jenga and dominoes. The Elders will host the Biergarten for German beer and wine tastings in Fellowship Hall. David Ludwig, Jr will be in the Sanctuary for a scheduled kids’ favorite, the interactive “Bats in the Belfry” (where they can hear spooky music from the organ, learn how it works, and try it themselves), as well as a mini organ concert for adults. Join your Trinity family and friends for an evening of fun and fellowship.

Volunteer and Sponsor Needs
Please help make this Trinity event a big success by signing up to help with the set up before the event out at a game or snack stations, helping at the Operation Christmas Child packing party, help people make cards for kids and veterans, or sign up to help after the event for breakdown and cleanup - that’s always much appreciated!! THe more help, the less work for each person! Sign up online at https://signup.com/go/sxYHOzp or in the church Narthex. Sponsorship opportunities are also on display in the Narthex - several people have already donated with great generosity - we appreciate you so much! Let’s see if we can get those other items covered as well! Thank you.

Voters Meeting November 3
Join us for a Regular Congregational Voters Meeting in the Sanctuary on Sunday, November 3 after the 11am worship service. We’ll hear reports from various leaders, learn about the status of a call committee for a Deaconess/DCE, vote on a Congregational Vice President candidate, learn the status of the LCEF loan, and hear an update on the Ruth Lane properties.

Probably takes 30 minutes a month….
Volunteer Service Opportunity: Missionary Connections
Seeking a volunteer to take responsibility for keeping up with our Trinity missionaries’ blogs and updates, submitting monthly updates for the congregation to the Trinity Weekly, and organizing card writing/making to cover missionary families’ birthdays and special holidays. Would prefer someone new to volunteering at Trinity who would enjoy a small role serving behind the scenes to extend some prayer support and care to the missionary families Trinity supports. Contact Chanda at [email protected] or 407-488-1919 x101.

Everyone had a great time at Pumpkin Palooza this past weekend! We had a great turn-out with close to 200 people on campus. Thanks to all who came out to parade, had some fun and decorated trunks and bought some pumpkins! We are looking forward to planning the event for next year. Thank you all for coming out to support!

Women’s Christmas Dinner
All women of Trinity are invited to purchase a ticket and attend the much anticipated return of the Women’s Christmas Dinner on Thursday, December 12 from 6-8 pm. This year's theme is "Shine Like Stars at Peggy's Party" in honor and remembrance of beloved Trinity member, Peggy Trapp. Let’s come together for fellowship, Christmas caroling, a wonderful catered meal prepared by Green Coat Catering and served by men of the congregation, and a great reminder that “It’s still all about Jesus!!!”

Tickets are $10 and will go on sale the weekend of November 2 & 3. Volunteers will be available after each of Trinity’s worship services that weekend to sell you a ticket. Don’t wait - we are limited to 80 seated guests this year, so please get YOUR dinner ticket before they are all gone!!!

Are you interested in hosting a table ? You will be responsible for heading a table, creating a centerpiece, and providing eight place settings of Christmas dinnerware or fine china and silverware.

We are also collecting cleaning products to donate to The Morgan Center and Quest: Clorox Disinfectant Wipes (Name brand), "Magic Soap" (Hand Sanitizer), Liquid Soap and Kleenex (Name brand for softness please)

Lay Leadership Summit
The Region 2 Lay Leadership Summit will be hosted by Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Gainesville, FL, on Nov. 15-16. This special event is designed specifically for Lay Leaders. This FREE conference is sponsored by the Florida-Georgia District and is a place where lay leaders have the opportunity to learn and grow as you serve Jesus in your local congregation.
  • Equip, empower, and engage lay leaders of today’s church for effective ministry leadership.
  • Help one another discover their gifts and how to best use them to serve others.
  • Meet other congregational leaders to gain new ideas, support one another, and build inter-congregational relationships
  • Affinity Groups give you a chance to gather with others who share the same or similar interests or roles in their congregation. These sessions offer an opportunity to explore with others who are climbing the same mountain. You’ll have the chance to build a network of new friends who are working in the same areas of ministry and interest and just may have helpful suggestions to strengthen your current ministry.
  • Sessions at the Summit feature workshops and keynote addresses designed specifically to equip, empower, and engage lay leaders of the church, such as ministry leaders, committee leaders, professional volunteers, council members, elders, media coordinators and you!

The more our posts and events are shared and liked, the more likely someone new will hear about Trinity, follow our page, and perhaps connect in more ways than just that one event you shared! Thanksgiving Bread Bakers TWO signed up, we’d like ONE or TWO more
Trinity has a tradition of baking about 200 mini loaves of bread to be placed on the altar, blessed and then sent home with families on Thanksgiving Eve - one to give, one to keep. We need a few blessed bakers to bake the mini loaves at home and deliver back to Trinity wrapped and ready to go on Thanksgiving Eve afternoon (mimi tins, baggies, ties and time required). Please contact Chanda if you’re interested. [email protected] or 407-488-1919 x101.

Choir meets Wednesdays @ 7:30 p.m. Please join us!
Choir has started and there are plenty of seats available for new members to join us. No one is turned away. Yes, you can sing! Choir meets Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. in the church balcony. It's okay if you have to miss some Wednesday rehearsals or Sunday services. We typically sing three Sundays a month, including two 11:00 a.m. services and one 8:00 a.m. service. Please come join us!

You're Invited to Make A More Joyful Noise!
"Make A More Joyful Noise!" is open to everyone that wants to make a More Joyful Noise! We sing a few times each year , and ask that you join us for rehearsal the Wednesday before the Sunday we sing, or even the morning that we sing. This is for anyone that wants to "try out" choir, even if for only one Sunday, or for those that want to share the joy of Jesus Christ through music. Faith, fun and fellowship are abundant with Make A More Joyful Noise! Please come join us!

Please let us know!
Please let your Trinity family know of any scheduled surgery or hospital stay. In addition to scheduled procedures, please give the church office a call to let us know about extended illness, unplanned hospital stays, or even the birth of a child. You can call the office at any time and leave a message-no need to wait until business hours (407-488-1919 x101). During business hours, that information can then be forwarded to the appropriate caregivers. We'll get back to you ASAP. We want to be sure to know when you need us - whether to pray with you before a scheduled procedure, sit with you during a loved one's procedure, pray for you while you recover, visit you in the hospital/at home or to share praise and thanksgiving prayers for good news/results. Just let us know. Thank you.

Urgent Prayer Requests
If you have an urgent prayer request that can’t wait until you fill out a yellow prayer card during worship, please submit it via email to [email protected] . While submitting a yellow card during worship is still the preferred way to share prayer requests, sometimes a prayer need can’t wait until Sunday. Your prayer request (first name and basic details of the prayer requested) will be shared with a team of committed weekday prayer warriors and will also be added to Trinity’s regular printed prayer list for the congregation. All prayers are kept on the printed list for a period of three weeks, so please resubmit long term prayer needs regularly so that they stay on the printed list. Thank you.
