TRINITY’S SUMMER FRED TALKS:  Similar to the well-known TED Talks, Trinity’s FRED Talks offer a wide variety of topics that help open our eyes and hearts to God, God’s creation, and God’s children. Faith, Religion, Education, and Discussion, FRED Talks may range from Christian theological and Biblical discussions to other religions to the needs in our community and our world. But the talks’ focus and discussions always help us with our faithful response to issues and people as followers of Christ. The talks take place in Trinity’s Gearing Hall on Sunday mornings from 9:15 to 10:15am with refreshments and fellowship time beginning at 9:00am. During the FRED Talks, children 4 years through 5th grade will meet with Nette Curtis and friends for Children’s Summer Fun in Room 4 from 9:15-10:15am. Youth 6th through 12th grade will meet with Jared Brown in Room 7.

  • July 21: “Helping Feed the World” – Not only is Tacos 4 Life a wonderful, growing local restaurant, it donates funds to Feed My Starving Children to purchase one meal for every meal sold in the restaurant. Join Quin Wilkes, the Little Rock Marketing Director of Tacos 4 Life, as she shares the origins and mission of this business.

  • July 28: “Teaming Up To Share God’s Love” – (July 28 FRED Talk will meet in Room 6.) Pet Partners is the national leader in demonstrating and promoting animal-assisted therapy, activities, and education. Come hear Trinity friend Katie Kasten, who works for them as a Strategic Partnerships Manager. But Katie’s story has a much more personal side. Come meet her canine partner, Scully, and hear their story of working together to reach the vulnerable and those in need in our society. Hear their personal story of how animals provide a unique glimpse at unconditional love.

  • August 4: “Showing Mercy” – Mercy Community Church is a multi-denominational worshiping community in downtown Little Rock welcoming all people, especially those living on the streets of our city. Come hear founder Robert Williamson Jr’s story. Robert is an ordained Presbyterian minister, Associate Professor of Religious Studies at Hendrix College, a published author, and pastor of Mercy Community Church of Little Rock.

Martin’s The Time for Singing Has Come . Liturgist Robin Brown will help lead worship, Ben Smiley will read the Psalm, and Anne Brown will give God’s Word for Children.

CONGREGATIONAL LUNCHEON FOR EVERYONE ON JULY 28:  On Sunday, July 28 after worship, Trinity’s congregation, guests and friends are invited to a church-wide luncheon in the Fellowship Hall. We will also honor Trinity’s new members from the past year at that time. Mark your calendars and make plans to attend! Direct questions to Fellowship Division elders Elizabeth Downes (501-247-5210) or Greg Phillips (501-350-0270).

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!  Trinity’s big fall kick-off event, ReCreation Sunday, is set for Sunday, August 18. More information will follow in our upcoming fall preview newsletter.

USHERS WANTED!  Ushers are a vital part of worship leadership at Trinity. An usher is often the first person a newcomer meets when coming to our church on Sunday morning. Please consider volunteering to serve as an usher. Your team of four people will serve six Sundays per year, once every other month. Ushers greet those entering the building, hand out the worship service programs (bulletins), assist latecomers in finding a seat, collect the offering during the worship service, and straighten up the sanctuary after the service ends. For more information on ushering, speak to one of the ushers serving on Sunday, or call Julie Peak in the church office at 501-868-5848.

We are happy to include your announcements related to the life of the church
in the Sunday bulletin or the Wednesday weekly email update. Please email
your announcement of no more than 150 words to [email protected]
by 5:00pm Tuesday for inclusion in the email update and bulletin.
