Please join us at 9:00am on October 14 for various projects to keep our beautiful church and church grounds shining amongst the trees. There is a list of “to dos” both inside and outside, so bring your yard tools, handyman tools, and able bodies! All ages are invited and welcomed. Direct questions to Vance Smiley at 501-551-2403.

In Worship this Sunday, October 15

What is heaven like? “I can only imagine,” the song says, but Jesus gives us some glimpses. Interestingly enough, many of them have to do with food. This Sunday, we’ll talk about how heaven is like a wedding banquet in Jeff Price’s sermon “A Serious Dress Code Violation” drawn from Matthew 22:1-14.

An order of worship is emailed on Friday so that those watching the livestream at home can worship along with us. If you would like to start receiving that email, click here. Click here for this Sunday's service.

Trinity Family Pickleball Night on October 24

The Trinity family and friends of all ages are invited to a Pickleball Night at The Mighty Bluebirds Field (6800 Pinnacle Valley Road, 72223) on Tuesday, October 24. Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the US and is played on a court with a 34-inch net in the middle. You don’t have to be super-athletic to give Pickleball a whirl, and you can play it at the pace that feels comfortable to you. There will be games for everyone regardless of whether you're a newbie or a seasoned player. Equipment will be provided, or you can bring your own paddles. Games start at 6:00pm. Dinner will be served at 7:30pm. To RSVP, visit pp.events/trinity or call the church office at 501-868-5848.

Heritage Sunday is October 29

On Heritage Sunday, October 29, Trinity will celebrate our diverse Presbyterian heritage. Worship will feature bagpiper Roy Eggensperger, special music, and the annual Kirkin’ o’ The Tartans. After worship we will share a catered fellowship meal together in the Fellowship Hall. Make plans to join us!

Kirkin' O' The Tartans on October 29

On October 29, Trinity will celebrate our diverse Presbyterian heritage with a Kirkin’ o’ The Tartans during worship. Please bring to worship a small piece of cloth or small token that reminds you of your heritage. Tradition would suggest a piece of your family tartan, but if that doesn’t fit your background, find something that will. Anything that reflects your family would be appropriate. In the past, items brought to be blessed have included a family Bible, christening gown, and photos. During the service, you will be instructed to bring your items up and place them on the table. A prayer will be said recognizing the importance of our many heritages. After the service, you may retrieve your item.

First Friday Fellowship Dinners are at 6:00 on November 3

Would you like to get to know others in your church family better? How about a chance to have a conversation with our guests? Trinity’s First Friday Fellowship is designed to do just that. On November 3 at 6:00pm, any adult interested in participating will meet at the church, be placed in a group of six to eight, and then travel to a restaurant where reservations await you. It is like our former program Dinners for Eight, but nobody has to cook or clean the house. A nursery is provided on request, and each person pays for their own meal. Please RSVP here or to Jeff Price by 5:00pm on Thursday, November 2 so that adequate restaurant reservations may be made. Direct questions to Jeff Price at 501-626-6476.

"Remembrance of the Faithful Departed" in Worship on Sunday, November 5

During our worship service on November 5, a special element of the liturgy will be the Remembrance of the Faithful Departed. We will remember those beloved members of our church family who have died during the last 12 months—from October 2022 until now. If you would like to add your family members to be remembered to this list, please give their names to the church office by 5:00pm on Wednesday, November 1 at 501-868-5848 or [email protected].

Notes from the Adult Choir

What a great rehearsal we had Wednesday night! We welcomed new choir members Mac Bellingrath, Rachelle Bloser, and Mariah Elkins into our growing group. We rehearsed Christmas music and a special anthem for Heritage Sunday. And we want YOU to join us!

“But I can’t read music,” you say. Guess what? Neither can some of us (including me!). Some of us learn by listening and repetition, and our gracious director, Terry Jackson, is always willing to stop and play specific parts of the anthems to help us hear our notes. “I’m not crazy about wearing those heavy choir robes,” you say. Guess what? Neither are some of us, and for now we’ll only wear them on special Sundays.

If you think you might want to give choir a try, we’re singing a fun and easy anthem, “Down By the Riverside,” on Sunday, October 22. Come see what choir is all about at our 10:00am rehearsal on Sunday, October 15, or at our 7:00pm rehearsal on Wednesday, October 18.
