Hello Trio Family,

These past two weeks have been difficult and good as I watched my dad move from fighting cancer for 5 1/2 years to in the last weeks quickly declining and dying. I was close to my dad. We spent a lot of time together. We fished nearly 100 lakes together through the years and have played thousands of games together.

My family got to say goodbye before he died. The worst days for him were fortunately short. My mom and siblings and I are in a pretty good place mentally and emotionally, so through it's hard, it's also good.

My dad's death and funeral highlighted two things I want to share with you.
1) We have tremendous opportunity to serve and love people in a way that shows them our Heavenly Father and Jesus in concrete form.

How you live, treat people, love your family, and serve extends impact far beyond what you can see, so live and love well like Jesus exemplified.

2) I much appreciate your prayers for me, especially speaking at the funeral. As I shared the message, I can't explain exactly how, but I could feel there were many people praying for me. I was able to share the entire message at my dad's funeral calmly and without overwhelming emotion. So thank you for praying for me.

I (and the Knudsen family) felt well loved by you that make up Trio Church these past weeks. Thank you for your help, love, and support.

Peace,
Pastor Kirk
