Triple P in Elkhart County Parents Newsletter - July 2023

This Month in Triple P: Summer fun and supporting families!

Getting outdoors is one of the best ways to connect as a family, and we at Triple P are finding ways to support families in doing just that this July!

Triple P is coming to Elkhart city parks this July thanks to our partnership with the Elkhart Department of Parks and Recreation! Every day of the week this summer, parks staff head out to a different city park to offer activities and games for kids and families. Triple P will be visiting parks alongside these activities throughout the month to provide information on Positive Parenting, and we will have fun giveaways for kids too! Here is the schedule of when and where we will be:

  • Monday, July 3, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Roosevelt Park, 1508 Prairie St
  • Tuesday, July 11, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at McNaughton Park, 701 Arcade Ave
  • Wednesday, July 19, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Walker Park, 3419 E Bristol St
  • Thursday, July 27, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Weston Park, corner of Cedar and N Michigan streets

We will also be back at Fables Books in downtown Goshen for the city's First Fridays Cruise-In Car Show! From 5 to 7 (or 7:30 depending on how many kids we have with us) on July 7, we will be there for First Fridays making colorful, custom bookmark crafts with kiddos and sharing Triple P information with parents. As you walk to and from the bookstore, there will be hundreds of classic and unique cars to look at along the city streets, and the city's fire department will even have one of their fire engines parked nearby for kids to explore!

We also have two more Triple P seminars coming up at Elkhart Health & Aquatics in downtown Elkhart. While parents are attending the sessions and learning about Positive Parenting strategies, we have all kinds of fun enrichment activities for kids in the children's room. At the first session, we had Jenny from Music Together join us for singing, dancing, and merrymaking!

Join us at Elkhart Health & Aquatics at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, for Raising Confident, Competent Children in English and Spanish. Thank you to the parents who joined us for the first session in June, and thank you as always to our friends at Beacon Health System and Beacon Community Impact for supporting Triple P as hosts and funding partners.
