Mayor Shaunna O’Connell recently announced the opening of the City of Taunton’s new Sign and Façade Program for eligible commercial properties as well as expansion of the City’s successful Rent Rebate Program to the Weir and Whittenton commercial areas.

Funded by Taunton’s allocation of American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA) federal funds, the Sign and Façade program will allow commercial property owners in qualified census tract areas to receive assistance toward improving the appearance and integrity of their buildings, in turn enhancing the beautification of the City’s urban neighborhoods and villages. Learn more.

Town Administrator Michael Mullen and Dighton Development and Industrial Commission Chairman Daniel Higgins are pleased to officially announce that the town has partnered with the Southeastern Regional Planning and Economic Development District to begin drafting an Economic Development Plan for the town. The Town of Dighton is utilizing funds from a Community Compact Cabinet (CCC) Best Practices Program grant awarded to the Town in 2021 to create an Economic Development Plan. The Economic Development Plan will help town officials plan for managed economic growth in the community and future infrastructure investments while capitalizing on the culture and character of the town.
