TEMS PTO Welcomes highly-acclaimed Contemporary Mexican ensemble,
 "The Villalobos Brothers,"
March 7th for All-School Assemblies!

TEMS is pleased to host "The Villalobos Brothers" and their "FusiĆ²n Mexicana" show in a performance made possible by the T/E Middle School PTO. Through the fusion of powerful lyrics and high-energy movements, the Villalobos Brothers use their violins and voices to redefine contemporary Mexican music. Original compositions and arrangements of traditional songs reflect elements of jazz, rock, classical, and Mexican folk music, and are blended to deliver a powerful message of love, camaraderie and social justice. The performance delivers a perfect combination of high-octane music, soaring cadences and exceptional virtuosity that awakens the senses and mesmerizes listeners of all ages as students learn of a Mexican folk music heritage that has been passed down through generations.   The Villalobos Brothers were born and raised in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico. They spent their childhood listening to their grandmother sing and play guitar and accordion. They took up the violin as children and soon learned to sing and play other instruments, including guitar and piano. They are considered one of today's leading Contemporary Mexican ensembles.

"I am glad I lived long enough to see you! This is amazing! All I can say is, I hope the world gets to experience this. Before starting you said something very important, you said: "we try to embody the miracle of music"...well, you certainly are a carrier of that disease...may we all catch it!...I don't know what else to say, I am speechless!"
- Marion J. Caffey, Producer of "Amateur Night" at the Apollo Theatre
