Each week, our Middle School Assistant Headmaster, Mr. Dorion Simmons, shares practical tips for student success.
Middle School Accountability and Responsibility
Responsibility and Accountability are lifelong skills that we can absolutely become better at if we understand and practice them.
- There is power and control associated with the ability to associate choices with consequences. Actions can have positive or negative consequences.
- Scholars are in a unique position of responsibility as the responsibilities are shared with parents, teachers, and other adults in their lives. Helping a scholar to understand and take responsibility for their respective responsibility is key.
- Mistakes are part of learning. As we navigate responsibility and accountability ensuring that we acknowledge and learn from them is more important for growth and maturation.

Trivium Prep Conferences - October 14-15 |
Trivium Prep student-led parent/teacher/student conferences will take place on October 14-15. You should have received an email in mid-September with a link to sign-up specifically for a conference time with your student's teachers. If you have not yet received communication regarding conference sign-ups, please check your spam folder and email Mrs. Sims at esims@triviumprep.org if you need assistance.
Student evaluations for the 1st Quarter will be available Friday, October 11, by 5 PM in the Powerschool Parent Portal.. You will be notified by email on when evaluations are ready to view.
After reviewing their evaluation, students should complete their Student Growth Plan and bring it with them to their conference or, if not attending conferences, to share with a teacher of their choice. Students should attend conferences in uniform. For more information about conferences, please visit our website:
https://triviumprep.greatheartsamerica.org/academics/conferences/

Quarter 1 Student Evaluations |
6th-12th student evaluations for Quarter 1 will be available by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11 in the Powerschool Parent Portal. We ask that parents please log on to the Parent Portal before the office closes for Fall Break to ensure that you are able to access your account to view your child's evaluations. Please refer to an email sent in August with your Portal setup instructions. The Portal will be opened temporarily for you to view your students' report card(s). You will be notified by email on October 11 when evaluations are ready to view.
- If your child was a student at Archway Trivium last year, you will use the same login as last year.
-
If you have new students for the 2024-25 school year (example: returning 7th grader but a new 9th grader), you will see your new Trivium student added to your account with the same login.
- If you are new to Trivium Prep this year, you should have received instructions to setup your account.
You can access the Powerschool Parent Portal website here. We have found that using Google Chrome or Firefox as your web browser is best. Please reach out to Erika Sims at ESims@triviumprep.org if you have any questions about your Powerschool Parent Portal account.

Before you leave, pause for reflection at Lucerne’s Lion Monument, commemorating Swiss Guards killed in the French Revolution, which Mark Twain described as “the most mournful and moving piece of stone in the world.”

If you know of parents who are not receiving these communications, please ask them to check their junk/promotions email folders, and then email bmcdonald@triviumprep.org for assistance.
School Messenger Communication
Great Hearts and Trivium Prep continue to utilize the system School Messenger for emails, robo-calls, and text messaging to inform families of campus related academy emergencies and other communications. SchoolMessenger has a new automatic opt-in for text feature. During the registration/re-enrollment process families confirmed their wish to participate in text communications. Great Hearts will now automatically opt in contact information given during the registration/re-enrollment process with the options you selected. You will notice at the beginning of July you will be opted in for text messaging. If you would like to opt out of text messages simply reply STOP to the text from 67585. You can also enter the code 67585 with the message STOP to block any text messaging. Please note, if opting out, you will not receive texts regarding emergencies on campus.
