Trojans News
Our HSSD Special Olympics Bowling Team enjoyed an exciting season, and we celebrate their success! Participation includes a series of practices and instruction and a culminating competition at the Special Olympics Bowling Tournament. The motto “Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt,” is threaded into all learning and achievement. Read more, here.
Applications are now open to join the Hot Springs delegation of students and teachers traveling to Hanamaki, Japan in the summer of 2020 - through the Hot Springs Sister City Program. Student applications are due December 21; Teacher applications are due January 7. Find online applications and more details, here.
HSSD Personnel Thank Residents Surrounding New Langston Elementary Leadership Academy Campus ... HSSD personnel visited neighbors of the new Langston Elementary Leadership Academy campus, thanking residents in the block surrounding Silver Street for their patience with construction progress and their continued support for our school district. We appreciate you, Langston community!
Congrats to our Tina Haines, who drives  HSSD  School Bus 80, who was chosen as the  105.9 KLAZ  School Bus Driver of the Week! “She loves her kids, and they love her,” notes her nomination form. KLAZ generously chooses from nominated school bus drivers across the area one School Bus Driver of the Week every Tuesday. Winners receive a prize pack and gift certificate to the tasty local Stubby’s BBQ. We are deeply proud of Tina - who is so deserving of this wonderful recognition!

Drama students in grades 7-12 bring the musical production “Elf” to the HSSD December 12-14 at the Hot Springs Junior Academy Auditorium. An outstanding cast of 25 actors and 11 dancers have rehearsed since August for roles and performances to warm your heart and bring holiday spirit to all!
