Trojans News
We had a great Technology Night event at the HSSD  Welcome Center - learning to navigate the website, Home Access Center, mobile app, and address questions from each of our families. Thank you to our awesome staff who made the event possible, and thank you to attendees from across HSSD schools. Join us for more events ahead at the Welcome Center!

Our wonderful student cast from the upcoming  HSSD  Oaklawn Visual & Performing Arts Magnet School Jr. Broadway production of Cinderella went to UA-PTC Centers for Humanities & Arts (CHARTS) Theater in North Little Rock to see the Cinderella Ballet, performed by Ballet Arkansas. It was an inspiring performance for these dedicated kids! Don't miss our very own Jr. Broadway production of Cinderella at OVPA Auditorium on March 10 and 12!

Friday was our last home game in the current Trojan game gym. While we are all beyond excited about athletic events and activities in our spacious new Trojan Arena, I want to dedicate the shoutout today to the Trojan sweatbox - an experience like no other - that our gym has been home to for so many years. The countless students and staff members, fans and supporters, and opponents alike, and all who have sat shoulder-to-shoulder in our packed and humid gym know what I’m talking about very well. There is nothing like being part of a community that is so hopeful, happy, and excited about student growth and student achievement (which is the entire point of every single event that we have held there). Even when we are sweaty and crowded to the max, it’s a feeling that I hope every person in our community has shared and will always cherish. I am proud to be part of the group - just like all of you - who will be able to tell the next generation about what our original Trojan Gym was like, and how the energy there is what inspired and made possible the years of growth and change ahead for the HSSD.

Friday was also Winter Sports Seniors Night (in between our girls and boys basketball games). Congrats to all of our outstanding athletes who work so hard to develop the discipline and practice the skills that make them such wonderful representatives of our school!

Trojan ‘Good Things’ is a weekly shout out from #HSSD Superintendent Dr. Stephanie Nehus to individuals in our school community who are doing amazing things! It is her goal to communicate all the positives happening in #HSSD. If you have any special events happening in your classes or buildings or if you know of someone we need to give a shout out to, please complete the form at www.tinyurl.com/TrojanTidbit .

Download the "Hot Springs School District" app from your app store (for FREE of course) to quickly and easily access HSSD News, Calendars, a quick link to the Home Access Center (HAC), Lunch Menus, the Student Handbook, and more! We look forward to utilizing this additional communication tool to help keep our students, families, and community as well informed as possible.
