HSSD families have seen information from teachers and/or school leadership at each of our campuses regarding NWEA Testing, which is taking place in K-10th grade classrooms through September 13. NWEA test data is directly used by teachers, administrators, and HSSD leadership to offer the very best education possible to our world class students. Learn how, here.
A camera crew will be at our OVPA campus throughout the school year to document our staff and students for their success as a Pilot School for Project Learning Communities through the Arkansas Department of Education and Solution Tree. Read more.
HSSD families, please be advised that student vaccinations must be current by September 15, 2019. Please send all immunization records to the school nurse at each HSSD school. An overview of all Arkansas Immunization Requirements are provided here for K-12th grade for reference.
During “Writer’s Workshop” at our Park Magnet, an IB World School, kindergarten students are assigned daily writing prompts to help develop descriptive writing skills. Entries begin as drawings, and eventually expand to include words, thoughts, and full sentences. Read more, here.
Students at our Hot Springs Junior Academy can now enjoy added options for when and what to eat, thanks to our districtwide food service provider Chartwells. Second Chance Breakfast and Fast Break Lunch via a Grab-N-Go Line provide students with unique choices from the traditional breakfast and lunch offerings. See more, here.
