Scouts in Action: Troop 511 Hits the Trail to Sunset Bench 🥾🌄
During a recent morning hike in Monrovia, Troop 511 set out on the trail to the Sunset Bench, showing off leadership, teamwork, and true Scout spirit every step of the way.
The 39 participants enjoyed a Scout-led adventure, organized by Scout Devin and supported by unit leaders Perry Poon, Jason Kong, Stephanie Hang, Ben Deng, and Quang Huynh.

Scouts BSA Winter Camp
Scouts BSA can gear up for an immersive winter adventure focused on skill-building, leadership, and personal growth. Participants will enjoy a wide range of winter activities and have the opportunity to earn a merit badge, guided by experienced staff who emphasize safety and teamwork. Campfire evenings with songs, stories, and hot cocoa round out an unforgettable experience.
Note: No siblings are permitted during Scouts BSA weekends. All youth must be registered troop members.

Cub Scout Winter Camp
Cub Scouts are invited to experience the magic of winter at Hubert Eaton Scout Reservation. This fun-filled camp blends outdoor adventure, learning, and friendship with winter-themed activities, games, and challenges that encourage teamwork and exploration. Scouts will learn about wildlife in winter, conservation, and the joys of the outdoors. Evenings bring cozy campfires, hot cocoa, storytelling, and stargazing—perfect for making lasting memories.
Note: Siblings attending Cub Scout weekends must be age 5 and up.

Going Above and Beyond!
Vivasvat has taken Scouting to the next level. Not only is he an Eagle Scout, but he has earned all 142 merit badges, including the three newest: Multi-Sport, AI, and Cybersecurity. What an incredible accomplishment showcasing dedication, curiosity, and perseverance!
And he didn’t stop there. In 2022, Vivasvat embarked on a 12-day trek at Philmont Scout Ranch, adding high adventure to his already remarkable Scouting journey.
We can’t wait to see what Vivasvat accomplishes next; the sky’s the limit!

The inaugural G18N Section Leadership Seminar is taking place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Centennial Elementary School (15200 Westdale Drive, Bakersfield, CA 93314). Five-time TEDx Speaker and Founder of the because I said I would movement, Alex Sheen, is the keynote speaker.

Jr. Leader Backpack Training 🏕️
Get ready to take your Scouting leadership to the next level! This High Adventure training teaches Scouts, Venturers, and adult leaders how to plan and lead safe, effective backpacking trips.
The training includes:
- Saturday Seminar (March 7, 2026) at Cushman-Watt Scout Center covering backpacking basics, gear, food, navigation, outdoor skills, and safety
- Weekend Field Trip to practice skills and use equipment in the local mountains
Designed for adult leaders and youth leaders to learn together, this program builds skills, confidence, and leadership in the outdoors. Don’t miss it!
