Tropical Storm Imelda & September Chamber News
Tropical Storm Imelda
Dear Members and Friends,

Our hearts go out to those impacted by Tropical Storm Imelda, with many people are dealing with tremendous loss and devastation. For those of members who have been impacted by Tropical Storm Imelda, the Chamber is here to support you. We will be sharing disaster assistance information in the coming days and months for any of our members who are impacted. We will be reaching out to check on members and will keep you updated on information related to disaster assistance resources specifically for the business community.

One immediate resource is from our strategic partner, the U.S. Small Business Administration, which offers disaster assistance in the form of low-interest loans to businesses, renters, and homeowners located in regions affected by declared disasters. Learn more

I know that our city and region will recover...we always do and we will be better and stronger than ever but that recovery will take time. To our members who have been impacted, the Chamber is committed to supporting you through this recovery effort. If you need assistance, we are only a phone call or email away to help you and your business. Please do not hesitate to reach out to the Chamber office at 832-510-3002 or email us at info@houstonlgbtchamber.com. Our thoughts are with you.

What a Week at the NGLCC Conference!
Did you check out the photos from the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) 2019 International Business and Leadership Conference? What a fantastic week in Tampa with the NGLCC, Chamber Leaders, Corporate Partners and LGBTQ Entrepreneurs from across the globe! The week included the general conference as well as the Chamber Leadership Program. The Greater Houston LGBT Chamber was well represented by many of our members and corporate partners.

Much appreciation to our corporate partner, United, for the "ride" to Tampa for #NGLCC19!

Save the Date! Next year's #NGLCC20 will be in Las Vegas, July 28-31, 2020. And remember - if you are a member of the Greater Houston LGBT Chamber, you get a discount on conference registration. Join the Chamber (if you haven't already!) and start planning for 2020!
Chamber Inaugural Education Series - A Success!
Our first workshop as part of the Chamber Inaugural Education Series, was held on September 5 and sponsored by Amegy Bank. It was a great learning opportunity for our members. Thank you to our speaker and Chamber member, Tom Jackobs, with The Impact Pilot. Tom led a terrific workshop "How to Use Your Personal Story to Grow Your Business,” giving attendees a great framework to connect personal stories to help promote and grow their businesses. Speaking of... the Chamber's goal is to help YOU grow your business so keep an eye out for more Chamber Education Series workshops. Thank you to corporate partner, Amegy Bank for their support! Check out photos from the workshop.
