According to the National Weather Service, Kiawah will continue to see the most significant impacts tonight and into Friday afternoon. Today, Kiawah experienced flooding at high tide, due to onshore winds pushing the tide 2' higher. This caused flooding on some roadways, including the Kiawah Island Parkway and Governors Drive. Water receded with the outgoing tide. It is believed that tomorrow morning's high tide will be less significant than today, due to the wind direction changing to offshore.
There is increased risk of isolated tornados this evening and into the morning. Wind gusts of up to 30-40 mph are possible through tonight, with 20-30 mph winds expected Friday. One to three inches of rain is possible.
