Trout in the River & Grouper Offshore!

This cold snap has brought the fish in! The trout have moved in the river and in the mouths of creeks! Folks are using Gulp, Pearl White & Chartreuse 3in Shrimp. Gag grouper closes on January 1st! Folks are using Stretch 30s trolling or SPRO Jigs in 55ft of water! Cigar Minnows & Sardines have also been a great bait of choice!

Captain Jadon Bray volunteered to be in the Christmas Unity in the Community play at the Steinhatchee School!

Each year the Rack Up Thrift Store in Steinhatchee sets up a day for the kids of Steinhatchee School to come shop for gifts for their parents and family!

Sea Hag Marina was able to deliver a book to every student in the School using the funds raised by the trash tournament.

So many smiling faces as they were picking out gifts for others.

Students were able to chose additional books to gift or to read!

Thanks to the Trash Cleanup Tournament back in September of this past year, we were able to raise money to buy books for the kids to take home and keep.

The First Baptist Church of Steinhatchee helped out and rode the kids across the street to the Thrift Store!

Three AAAs for the Steinhatchee School

Because of the score of our awesome students, "School of Excellence" was awarded in November! This is a big deal! I want to think our elementary school is ranked 5th in the state of Florida.

The greatness is made possible by our awesome teachers and staff and volunteers. I've never seen a school work better together ever. Everyone genuinely cares about every student attending.

So much fun was had!

It is with very heavy hearts that we share the death of Joanie Wood Griffin. Ms. Joanie worked at the Steinhatchee School and passed away on December 22, 2022. The kids all loved Ms. Joanie and so did many others in the community! She always looked out for the people she loved and showed kindness to everyone she met. She will be so missed!

The whole Brazell family enjoyed a fun day reeling in big fish!

The trout are hungry! Artificial baits have been the top choice lately, especially using a jig head.

Folks were trying out the river! It seems like sand trout & speckled trout were biting this week!
