Jason Toups for Truckee Town Council Jason Toups has based his priorities for Town Council on listening to the community's needs. Truckee Recycling Center William Cronan of Truckee Recycling Center is here to work with individuals, groups, and businesses, providing friendly outreach about the myriad of reusable materials that are regularly thrown away. Truckee Recycling Center believes that Truckee can do more to facilitate the diversion of reusable materials or waste from the landfill/MRF. Truckee Bike Month

Throughout June! | June 17, 2026, Bike Everywhere Day


Join us for a month-long celebration of all things biking! The weather is warm and we're happy to see so many people on bikes, including at Truckee Day and the Maker Show last weekend. Don't forget to take advantage of free bike valet service for Music in the Park and Truckee Thursdays, starting later this month. 

Whether you are riding your bike to work, running errands around town, or riding just for fun, biking offers great health and environmental benefits by burning human calories instead of harmful CO2. If you’re a seasoned cyclist, avid mountain biker, or just getting started, Truckee Bike Month has activities everyone can enjoy. Participate in bike month events and activities, and get entered into a raffle to earn prizes from our amazing local sponsors!

In this practical and informative session, Maria will walk local business owners through realistic, low-cost strategies to reduce the waste their operations send to landfill while lowering associated costs.


Drawing on her experience working with businesses across the Sierra Nevada region, from small local operations to ski resorts and hospital districts, Maria will share actionable approaches businesses can implement immediately. Topics will include how to better understand your hauling invoice as a financial tool, how to create waste systems that work efficiently without relying solely on staff behavior, and how upstream purchasing and operational decisions directly impact waste output and expenses.

Town of Truckee Residential Trash Service Community Meeting

Monday, June 15, 2026 | 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.


The Town is in the process of developing the next trash hauler service agreement for trash, recycling, and yard waste services. Truckee residents are invited to a community meeting on Monday, June 15 from 5:30 – 7:00 PM to learn more about the process, review results from a recent residential community survey, and share input on future services.

 

There will be a brief presentation from Town staff to share about the process and timeline for developing a new trash hauler franchise agreement and an overview of results from a recent residential survey conducted. Then, participants will be invited to ask questions and share additonal input on residential trash, recycling, and yard waste services. Spanish interpretation will be provided.

Good Morning Truckee: Summer Recreation Roundup

Join us for a recreation-focused breakfast meeting talking about trails, parks, and some of the many outdoor opportunities that make Truckee such a special place to live, work, and play. Whether you're a runner, cyclist, hiker, camper, nature lover -- you'll leave with ideas and information for summer adventures.

  • Cory Caldwell, Executive Director, Truckee Trails Foundation will provide updates on local trail projects, recreational opportunities, and efforts to expand Truckee's trail network.
  • Matt Chappell, Executive Director & Co-Founder, Truckee Dirt Union will discuss the state of mountain biking in the region, trail stewardship, and ways to get involved with the local riding community.
  • Michael Myers, Executive Director, Sierra State Parks Foundation will talk about new programs, fun events, park improvements, and summer recreation opportunities in our Sierra State Parks.

Nonprofit Spotlight

  • Sarah Green, Tahoe/Truckee Program Manager, Sugar Pine Foundation will give us a brief overview of the foundation's work restoring and protecting Sugar Pine trees and supporting the long-term health of Sierra Nevada forests.

How to Run for Office Workshop, Part 2

The Truckee Chamber of Commerce and Contractors Association of Truckee Tahoe Political Action Committee (CATT PAC) are excited to announce the second How to Run for Office Workshop on Monday, June 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Truckee Town Hall. In an era when civic engagement is paramount to the success of our communities, aspiring leaders are invited to participate in this workshop designed to prepare them to run for public office. 

With the guidance of a seasoned campaign marketing consultant, financial expert, and a distinguished panel of past and present elected officials, participants will gain invaluable knowledge on every aspect of mounting an effective political campaign.


The workshop will feature interactive sessions covering: How to Get Started, Campaign Marketing, Financing Strategies, and panel discussions with firsthand insights from some of our local experienced politicians.
