The Official Skinny From Truitt World HQ
|
|
It is a great time to be in Alabama. Huntsville has opened the Orion Amphitheater and was named the #1 place to live in the U.S.; Birmingham has the USFL, World Games and a ton of development going on; the MegaSite in Baldwin County has secured a user; the Hang-out Festival was back in Gulf Shores; and so much more is happening all over the place. People are traveling again. Masks seem to pretty much be gone and hopefully will not be coming back. Kids are graduating from our high schools and universities. There is so much to be thankful for. In addition, our business is turning 31 years old in June, too. We sincerely appreciate everyone who has believed in us over the years. Let's all get out there and mix it up this summer and have some fun. I can't wait! It is going to be amazing.

We headed down to Tampa/St. Pete for spring break at the end of March and had a huge time. I'm not much of a fisherman but man it was fun working the St. George Sound for snook, sea trout, and redfish. If you head that way, make sure to give Captain Stewart Ames a call and let him take you out for a few hours. You will have a ball.

Here is Brock and I hanging out with Miss Alabama Lauren Bradford and former Michigan Panthers kicker Novo Bojovic a few weeks back before the Birmingham Stallions kicked off their first game of the USFL season.

We are going to be expanding our advertising efforts coming up including getting some new billboards around the Bham area. I do not need all the space but want to be in some new areas. That being said, if you would like to get your message out...share some billboard space with us and get a deal on it. Give me a call at 205-254-3005 or email me if you would be interested in talking about it.

I went up to Cincinnati this past weekend to see my niece, Maggie Truitt, graduate from Xavier University. I stayed at The Graduate Hotel there. Very cool place.
They actually had wallpaper of Bootsy Collins in the bathroom. I looked it up, he is from Cincinnati and is still very connected to the city. This is awesome. He is always listed as one of the best bass-players of all time and is a music pioneer.
All that said, Graduate Hotels are working on building a new hotel in Auburn where Anders Bookstore is now located. The renderings look fantastic. The only thing I want to know now is who is going to be on the wallpaper there?

Congrats to Norman Jetmundsen on getting the amazing story of the undefeated 1899 Sewanee football team to the screen. Norman is an attorney by trade but found an interest in filmmaking and made a really interesting story come to life. We encourage you to check it out if you can.
