Special issue on National Security
Dear Marblehead Dems,

The Republican National Convention can be described with one word: chaos. Lie after lie, Republicans stumbled through the RNC, talking about an alternate history where Donald Trump didn’t sacrifice 180,000 lives, plunge us into an economic crisis, worsen historic inequalities, and incite hatred and violence.

Trump has always kept controversial company, but the bigots and right-wing extremists with primetime speaking spots show just how far to the right the Party of Trump really is. The “Party of Trump” is all the RNC is now--they have no platform, only whatever Trump’s hateful agenda for a second term might include. Last night, Trump used the White House as a backdrop for a divisive speech to a packed-in crowd of unmasked supporters. Tonight, he'll be next door in New Hampshire for another MAGA rally in the middle of a pandemic.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are the steady, unifying leaders we need to end the national chaos and build our country back better than before--but we can’t stop there. Thousands of Massachusetts Democrats are mobilizing for Joe and Kamala in states like New Hampshire and Maine, and for Democrats poised to flip seats in the House and Senate this November. If you haven't already, join our campaign at and help us win down the ballot across the country this November.

Please Join Us for Our
Annual Marblehead Dems Picnic
Monday, September 14th
7:30 PM to 9:00 PM

Complimentary “VOTE” masks
for all our picnic guests!

It's our 26th picnic but our first-ever virtual one!

So this year instead of grilled chicken, salad, veggies and balloons we'll be serving up food for thought, great entertainment, complimentary “VOTE” masks for all attendees—and ways we can all help reclaim our democracy.

The annual picnic is the MDTC's only fundraiser. Proceeds will go to MDTC grassroots campaigning, Democratic candidates running for office in 2020, and college scholarships for Marblehead high school seniors.

We look forward to sharing this special evening with you.

Trump & National Security
Taken from:
ON AUGUST 21, 2020

Trump has:

  • Gravely damaged America’s role as a world leader by disgracing America’s global reputation and undermining our nation’s moral and diplomatic influence.

  • Shown that he is unfit to lead during a national crisis. He has demonstrated far greater concern about the fate of his reelection than the health of the American people.

  • Solicited foreign influence and undermined confidence in our presidential elections.

  • Aligned himself with dictators and failed to stand up for American values.

  • Disparaged our armed forces, intelligence agencies, and diplomats; attacked Gold Star families; scoffed at American prisoners of war; interfered in the military justice system; and embroiled our military in domestic politics.

  • Undermined the rule of law, including compromising the independence of the Department of Justice, repeatedly attacking federal judges, and punishing government officials who have sought to uphold the law.

  • Dishonored the office of the presidency by childish name-calling, mocking the disabled, belittling women, persistently lying, peddling baseless conspiracy theories, and continually embarrassing Americans in the eyes of the world.

  • Divided our nation and preached a dark and pessimistic view of America.

  • Attacked and vilified immigrants to our country, routinely denigrating them and inflaming prejudices as he seeks support for his reelection.

  • Imperiled America’s security by dismissing or replacing — often by tweet —senior officials in critical national security positions, many because they refused to cover for his misdeeds or demonstrate sufficient personal loyalty.

As we inch closer to the general election in November, it's becoming more apparent why national security should be top of mind for all voters in 2020. When we think about democracy, our Constitution, our unalienable rights, and the virtues that make us uniquely American... continued
