KIOS listeners & supporters, public broadcasting is under attack.

President Trump has formally asked Congress to take back the $1.1 billion set aside for public broadcasters over the next two years. This includes upwards of 150k in yearly grants for KIOS-FM programming.

If congress enacts this rescission, it will remove crucial funding for station activities causing immediate budget shortfalls. This would result in cancellation of beloved local and national programming, a reduction in local news coverage, a severe curtailing (if not elimination) of public radio music stations who depend on The Corporation for Public Broadcasting to negotiate music licenses, reduction in service areas for rural and remote communities, as well as forcing dozens of local stations to shutter operations.

Rescission would irreparably harm communities across America who count on public media for 24/7 news, music, cultural and educational programming, as well as vital emergency alert services.
