Are you concerned about your kids trick-or-treating during the COVID pandemic? If so, we have the safe and fun answer! Join us for our Second Annual Trunk or Treat event at St. Matthew School. We are once again providing you and your children with a safe place to have fun with your friends and get lots of treats!
What is “Trunk or Treat?”
A safe environment for kids to "trick or treat" from car-to-car! We encourage participating adults to decorate the back of their vehicles for Halloween, load up on candy, and wait in the church parking lot for kids to "trick or treat.”
This is also a great way for adults to socialize (safely, of course) and be creative while seeing all the kids in their costumes. Adults are encouraged to dress up too (no bloody costumes, violence oriented or X-rated) and participate in the fun. Masks must be worn and social distance practiced. We will have a vehicle decoration and costume contest!
All children must be accompanied by an adult. We will not allow alcohol and please do not bring candy with peanut butter/nuts due to allergies. No homemade treats will be allowed due to recommended guidelines. Treats should be placed in bucket or on a table instead of handing out individually.
This event is open to all children who are currently enrolled at St. Matthew School or Family Care. In order to participate, we ask that you sign up so we can space vehicles accordingly. Please be here from 5pm - 6:30pm for participation.
Benefits of Trunk or Treating
- Deemed safer because you are with people from school/daycare
- More convenient because you only have to go to one location
Provides access to Halloween festivities for those who do not live in a typical residential neighborhood.
