Its been an encouraging first week of the 2020 season - we've had a very positive response from new and returning members and guests this week and a full tee sheet all week.

With weather looking nice all weekend and improving each day this week, it's important to remember that things are not "back to normal" now that golf courses are open. We need to all continue to work together to make sure everyone's golf experience remains positive while keeping members, guests and staff safe.

Hand sanitizer stations have been placed in clubhouse washrooms, outside the Pro Shop and at the starter's hut. Additional stations will be installed shortly.

A limited supply of snacks and beverages will be available from the Pro Shop take-out window this weekend.

Please familiarize yourself with our rules and protocols currently in place:

COVID-19 Local Rules

The Truro Golf Club is committed to creating and maintaining a safe environment for our members, guests and staff. Violators may be asked to leave the property or face suspension.

*** You Must ***

  • Maintain physical distancing of at least 6 feet at all times.
  • Not touch or remove pins.
  • Not pick up "lost" balls or discarded tees.
  • Not touch tee blocks - our maintenance crew will do this for you daily.
  • Not high five or shake hands.
  • Not gather on tee decks - please let the group in front of you leave before approaching the next tee.
  • Stay home if you are sick or recently travelled.
  • Leave the property once you complete your round, but know that we look forward to seeing you again soon!

*** We Have ***

  • Removed rakes, ball washers, benches and divot mix. Please smooth the sand over with your foot or club as best you can as you exit sand traps.
  • Adjusted cups for player's safety.

*** Be Smart - Be Safe - Play Well - Have fun ***

Other important protocols include the following:

  • Only one person is permitted inside the clubhouse at a time.
  • Payments:
  • We would like to encourage members to set up accounts in the Office. This service allows for a safer transaction between staff and members by reducing the amount of contact during transactions.
  • Debit and Credit only.
  • Please pre-pay for goods and services in advance whenever possible by phoning into the Pro Shop or Office, or using a charge account.
  • Scorecards and pencils are only available by request from the Pro Shop window.
  • Only one tee time can be booked per day - this includes online booking.
  • You may book for multiple days, but not multiple tee times on the same day.
  • A second tee time may be booked following completion of your first round if available.
  • Arrive no more than 20 minutes before your tee time or if you do arrive early, please remain in your vehicle until 20 minutes before your tee time.
  • Upon completion of your round, please make your way directly to your vehcile and leave the premesis. We hate to ask you to leave, but want you to be allowed to return!
  • Power carts usage:
  • Double occupancy is only allowed for same household individuals or those within each other's "bubble".
  • Please book your power cart in advance.
  • Cleaned and sanitized carts will be parked in front of the clubhouse.
  • Upon completion of your round, please remove waste and recycling yourself at the cart return area and pull your cart all the way to the end of the row. Leave the key in the ignition.
  • Practice Green:
  • Maximum of four golfers on the green at once.
  • Do not putt to the same hole as other golfers using the green at the same time.
  • Give preference to group "next on the tee".
  • ALL golfers MUST check in at the Pro Shop window prior to teeing off.
  • Tee times must be booked in advance.

Below is what you can expect when you arrive at the course:
Members and guests are allowed to park parallel along the cart return as indicated above. Please pull all the way to the end so that others may pull in behind. This measure isolates used carts for proper sanitizing prior to cleaning.

On Saturday, May 30th tee times will begin at 7:00am and intervals will be reduced to 10 minutes.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and has gotten a chance to get out to enjoy the course over the last week!
