Letter from Truro Golf Club President, Allan Wolfe
To our Members,
We are now starved for social interaction and healthy physical activity which thankfully can still be realized through the game of golf. The joy of being outside on the course, enjoying the warmth of sunshine and friendship is more desirable today than any other time. We need the strength and support of our entire membership for our club to survive through this challenging time.
Hopefully soon the Health Authority will lift the ban on golf courses in Nova Scotia with additional restrictions being imposed. We have been developing contingency plans to incorporate new rules while at the same time preparing the course to open as quickly as possible. Social distancing will no doubt eliminate all large gatherings and even with full participation in government financial aid programs, reducing operating costs and subsequently services is inescapable.
Our top priority is the safety of our employees and subsequently our members and guests. We have had favorable financial results over the past 4 years but 2020 has already proven to be an exceedingly difficult year. Once we understand the full impact of Covid-19 we will need to assess all services of the club.
For past and new members who have delayed joining this year, we request your immediate participation and financial support to help get us through this most difficult time.
Once we have a firm reopening date and better understanding of restrictions, we will post a detailed list of changes and Covid-19 Rules of Play. Our course has weathered the winter well and our staff is working hard to have it ready. We cannot wait to see you all back on the links.
Remember….GOLF IS FUN!
