This month, we are focusing on the theme of intentions. I’m reminded of an intention I set a few short months ago after returning from an uplifting teacher’s retreat with Chrissy Carter. One of the themes that we meditated on was this:  “Make your plan, but allow space for God to walk into the room.” So often, there’s a tendency for me to over-do, over-plan, thinking I am the controller or the doer of all the deeds, therefore forfeiting a carefree vibe in my life because of it, not allowing enough s p a c e for Divine guidance. Sometimes I notice myself being rigid to old ways of thinking and doing things; becoming stressed because of it. This year, it’s time to “walk a new path through the woods."

I pray that I will be guided into a practice of balancing cautious & carefree, effort & letting go, trusting the path unfolding right in front of me instead ‘forcing’ my idea of what I think needs to happen. Finally, I’m reminded of one of my favorite quotes from a poem by Max Ehrmann:

“Whether or not it is clear to you, not doubt the universe is unfolding as it should...”

SATURDAY, January 12th 2019
5-6:15 p.m.

Sound Baths are often referred to as “horizontal concerts” because everyone lies down on a yoga mat to enjoy the music and receive the vibrational healing. In this relaxed position and state of mind the Sound Bath begins with a beautiful guided meditation. The experience continues with the pure tones and overtones of quartz crystal singing bowls and the deep grounding vibrations of the didgeridoo, which together create a magnificent matrix of vibration to “recalibrate” the human energy system into a powerful place of resonance. The experience ends with the sounds of the Spirit Drum.

Cabin fever got you down? Time to hit the yoga playground! Yoga asana can sometimes get quite serious, but the act of play can certainly enrich our knowledge of self (svadhyaya), so it seems imperative to add a healthy dose of play to our work on the mat. This workshop will involve creative individual, partner, and group work, so come ready to learn, discover, and play well with others in this non-competitive and fun practice!
