The 2021 Tax Season has begun, and bills are in the mail with our brochure about our taxpayer benefit programs (English/Español) and location schedule.
For our taxpayers who are interested in Tax Freeze or Tax Relief, the deadline to apply is April 5, 2022.
Throughout the pandemic, we've continued to strive to help Shelby County citizens and we are thrilled to announce that the Greater Memphis Financial Empowerment Center sponsored by the Trustee and grant-funded, has helped citizens eliminate over $1 Million of their non-mortgage debt in its first 2 years! Click here to see my chat with WREG's Live at 9 about the program and how to get help or check out our GMFEC brochure
Additionally, on September 18, we are again teaming up with Representative G. A. Hardaway for the special Fall Edition of "Merry Christmas Baby" Community Baby Shower for new and expectant parents! I will be presenting Baby Budget Basics and the Trustee's office has contributed to the giveaway. Links further below!
We are expanding the number of County offices and departments which employ Smart Safes and remote deposit scanners. Using these tools keeps cash payments to the County safe by reducing risk of loss and theft, increasing efficiency, and by expediting the posting of deposits.
I am proud to say that 84% of the Trustee's Office is vaccinated for COVID-19 thus far and I encourage you to do the same. Remember to mask up to protect yourselves and others!
Please follow our social media as well for prompt updates on Trustee news and services.
All the best to each of you and we hope you stay safe and healthy!
