Merry Christmas!

Greetings!

Merry Christmas! This season is about celebrating life and the freedom that Jesus Christ gives us. I am sure that you are busy with the preparations for all that this season brings. Please do not forget to take the time to realize what an awesome gift Jesus Christ really is.

Recently, I have been reading about the life of Jesus. I just went through the gospels in my Bible plan. Only a small amount of real estate is given to the actual circumstances of His birth, but the Old Testament foretells all about Him in many of its pages. Perhaps one of the most awesome things about Christmas is how much Jesus gave up in coming to this earth to be born into human flesh.

John Chapter 1 tells us that in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things are made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. Jesus is God. I know that I am stating the obvious, but Jesus has been from the beginning.

Jesus committed himself to come as a baby well before the foundation of the world, Revelation tells us that. Philippians Chapter 2 Verse 6 states this perfectly. Who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself. He traded His Heavenly Glory for the rags of humanity.

Jesus humbled Himself to please his Father. He even said in the garden as He was agonizing over His death, He said, “O my Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.” Jesus Christ offered up His will and His body in His final act of worship to His Heavenly Father. The greatest offering that could have ever been given-Himself.

At Christmas time the main focus is the gift under the tree. Jesus Christ is the greatest gift that we will ever receive. But this season let us honor Him with our gift back to Him. Surrendering our will to the will of the Father just like Jesus is the greatest gift that we can give.

Romans Chapter 12 tells us, “I beseech you therefore, brethren by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” That living sacrifice is our will. The only thing that we own is our own will. The Lord will never override our will. It is ours and ours alone. We are free to keep it or to lay it down.

Our greatest act of worship is to lay down our will on the altar of sacrifice and offer our will back to the Father to Glorify Him and to do His Will on earth. Thy will be done, thy kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven.

Lord, help us to surrender our will daily unto you to bring about your kingdom on earth!

Until next time,
