Greetings!
Spring is almost here. The sun stays around longer, and time changes this coming Sunday. Each time the seasons change it reminds me of the verse in Genesis 8, “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.”
Just like there are seasons on earth, there are seasons in our walk with God. Our experience in these seasons is related to how God wants to transform us and secondly, how much we are willing to be transformed. He uses these seasons to move us from glory to glory by way of the process of sanctification.
What I have learned of the Lord recently is that He will put us in situations to reveal to us what is in our heart. I have been in a season for a particularly long time, and I find myself telling God, “Haven’t I learned enough, haven’t I mastered this part of my life. I am ready to move on.” But then he puts me in situations to reveal to me what is still in my heart that needs to be covered by the blood. I then humbly repent and say, “I did not know that was there. Please forgive me.”
We must realize that God knows us better than we know ourselves. He knows even the deep crevices of our heart that are stuffed with things that we forgot that we were holding onto. Old hurts and old mindsets that need to be submitted unto His will and His plan.
God will use these seasons to help spring clean our hearts if we will allow Him. He will wash us with the water of the Word if we allow Him to do what needs to be done.
What are you holding onto that you need to release in forgiveness? What wounds are you dressing everyday that you need the Lord to bring the balm of Gilead to heal?
Whatever it is He will meet you right where you are. In fact, He already knows, He is just waiting on you.
Open the windows of your heart and let His Spirit move freely. Submit all of you unto Him and trust Him with you.
Until next time,
