DIAL-A-STORY
Looking for a new way to entertain your little ones in the car or at home? Introducing Dial-A-Story! Stories on demand are a phone call away! Our newest Storytime offering allows you to listen to a collection of preselected stories in English and Spanish over the phone. We also have songs by Librarians Pam, Armando and more! New material will be added every month.

Just follow the steps to get started:

ATTENTION FINISHERS!
Have you finished the Summer Learning Challenge? We are taking finishers through August 31. By completing the finisher form children ages 18 and under are entered into a drawing for a $1,000 scholarship. The child must be a resident of Redwood City to be eligible to win. After you have completed the finisher form return to this webpage for the final step in the Summer Learning Challenge!

NEWS FROM THE FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY
Did you know that Friends of the Redwood City Public Library sell the honey made by our RCPL Bees? The bees make hundreds of pounds of honey each year, which are then harvested and jarred for sale! This batch is a delicious as ever. And to further sweeten the deal, all sales of honey and books from the Friends of the Library Bookstore benefit Library programs such as our Summer Learning Challenge.

Tai Chi in Roselli Park
Join us for an afternoon of movement, breathing, and energy work on Sep 1, 2, 22, & 23 in Roselli Park right outside the Downtown Library.

ESL Conversation Group
ESL Conversation Group is back online! Starting Sep 7, all non-native English language speakers who are interested in developing their speaking fluency are welcome.

THURSDAYS, 10am
Join us for a wonderful storytime in Roselli Park right outside the Downtown Library.

THU AUG 26, 6:30pm
Tune in for another Live and Aloud virtual concert! This time we're featuring guitarist, Ed Johnson. 

SAT AUG 28, 11am
Pick up materials at the walk-up window in parking lot B at the Downtown Library then tune in online using the QR code provided.

TUE AUG 31, 5:30pm
Meet the Author, Emilly Prado for a discussion on her new book, Funeral For Flaca. This is an "Outside the Library" Event and books will be available for sale/signing.

SUN SEP 12, 1pm
Meet us at the Magical Bridge Playground in Red Morton Park to learn about the RCPL program for families with children ages 3-10 who have been identified with ASD or other learning differences.

MON SEP 13, 6:30pm
Learn how to de-escalate a hate crime or hate incident and how to provide safety, support, and solidarity to the person being targeted.

LIBRARY SERVICE UPDATE
Below is a list of services available at this time.

  • All Redwood City Public Library locations are open for limited in-person service. Visit our RCPL Limited Edition page for hours, available services, safety guidelines, and more.
  • Curbside drop-in service for holds pick-up is available at the Downtown Library during open hours
  • Bookdrops are open to accept returns
  • Computers for 1-hour use are available at all locations during open hours
  • Our events are online! Check our calendar here.
  • Meeting rooms at the Redwood Shores Branch Library are open to the public, more information here.
  • Borrow eBooks and eAudiobooks; use streaming TV, movie, and music services; and access digital subscriptions to newspapers and magazines here.
  • Online resources are available to current card holders and new cardholders. Don't have a card? Sign up here
