BAKE SALE MHS Spring Track & Field Team to hold its annual bake sale on Saturday, May 6 from 9:00 am-5:00 pm. Stop by Shaws Supermarket and pick up some homemade treats and support the MHS Spring Track and Field Team! TECHNOLOGY UPDATE The Medway Technology Department wants to remind families with 8th and 12th-grade students that we intend to collect all Chromebook devices and chargers by the last day of school, according to our replacement lifecycle of four years. In September, students entering 5th and 9th grade will receive new devices to support our digital curriculum and learning initiatives. We thank you for preparing to return the device within the last week of school. Stay tuned for exact dates.

MA FRESH GRANT We’re excited to announce we received funding from the MA FRESH Grant through the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. We are excited to build 14 new garden beds at Burke/Memorial Elementary School in partnership with Medway Community Farm. MA FRESH is a new #farmtoschool grant for Massachusetts K-12 Schools & Early Care Centers (that participate in the NSLP & CACFP food programs). Thanks to Senate President Karen E. Spilka, State Rep Jeff Roy, and State Representative Mike Soter for allocating funding for this important work! Massachusetts Farm to School 88 Keys for Kids Campaign Last call for donations! We are thankful to the Select Board for their generous vote to include an allocation towards the Performing Arts' Department on the May 8 Town Meeting Warrant. MFPA Medway High School presents Spring Pops Concert. Reserve a table, enjoy some tunes and nosh. The concert will take place in the Medway High School Gymnasium on May 10 at 7:00 pm. Reservations will be open until May 3. Please note, general seating on bleachers will be available at no cost. MFPA The MFPA is excited to partner with Medway High School for the premier of a new annual event - Swing & Sing. We hope you can join us on Wednesday, May 3 at 7:00 pm. in the Medway High School auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at the Door (Students $5.00/ Adults $8.00).

BURKE/MEMORIAL SCHOOL PLAQUE NOMINATIONS Do you know someone who has made a significant or memorable contribution to Medway Schools or the Town of Medway? The nominee, through service, volunteerism or dedication must have made Medway school or town life better for those who follow. Residents, past or present, which have sacrificed their lives or freedom in service to their country, either as members of the military or as civilians contributing to military or peace efforts may also be nominated. ANNUAL TOWN MEETING Medway's Annual Town meeting is on Monday, May 8, 2023. A Special Town meeting will start at 7:00 pm immediately, followed by the Annual Town Meeting at 7:30 pm. NARCON TRAINING The Board of Health would like to offer Medway residents two free virtual training sessions through the Behavioral Health and Racial Equity (BEHERE) Training Initiative of Health Resources in Action. This two-part training includes information on opioid overdose on rescue, prevention, harm reduction, and safety planning. The first part of the training was held on April 24. The 2nd part, Opioid Overdose Prevention & Rescue training is scheduled for May 4 from 6-8:00 pm Register here. MEMORIAL DAY PARADE The Medway Memorial Committee is preparing for the 2023 Memorial Day parade and ceremonies to be held at Matondi Square on May 29 at 10:00 a.m. John Larney is the honorary, posthumously. John was a US Navy, Vietnam Veteran, an active Medway Post 1526 VFW member, and served as its Quartermaster for several years. Most recently he served as the Massachusetts VFW Quartermaster He was quite active in his community, especially with the BOY Scouts, serving actively with the Old Colony Council of Boy Scouts of America headquartered in Stoughton, MA. HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT The Town of Medway, Department of Public Works, seeks qualified candidates for the position of Heavy Equipment Operator in the Highway Department. Responsibilities include road maintenance and repair; operate all light and heavy department equipment to include but not limited to front end loaders, street sweepers, snowplows and sanders, back hoes, and trucks.The complete job description.

HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR - PARKS DEPARTMENT The Parks Division seeks qualified candidates for a full-time Grounds Worker/Heavy Motor Equipment Operator/Skilled Laborer. Responsibilities include maintaining recreation fields, the recycling center, school grounds, parks, and open spaces. The role primarily involves grounds and landscape functions, including handwork using manual and powered hand tools. This individual will perform skilled labor and related work incidental to the assigned task and drive and operate assigned motor equipment following all applicable regulations and safety practices.
