LOCAL ICE ARRESTS

On Tuesday morning, our community was shaken by the alarming news of a series of ICE arrests in the Plymouth, Campton, and Holderness areas. The uncertainty surrounding the details—who was arrested, how many were taken, and their current whereabouts—fills us with concern, as such actions are simply unacceptable.

A poignant video shared by Cathie LaBlanc on Facebook captures the moment of an arrest at the Irving gas station, reminding us of the human stories behind these events.

As the day unfolded, whispers of a prior raid in Littleton surfaced, with reports of approximately 11 neighbors being taken. Additionally, unsettling activity was noted near the hospital and at the Owl's Nest, although thankfully our local police stood did not participate.

The main stream media has largely ignored this issue across the state, but we did see an article in InDepth NH.

It is imperative that we unite and stand against such injustices. Join us this Sunday at 4:30 PM for a candlelight vigil—a powerful gesture of solidarity and hope. And don't let a little rain deter you; bring a flashlight and your spirit of resilience! Together, we can ensure that our voices resonate against this injustice.

MARK YOUR NEW 2026 CALENDARS!

We will not have a meeting in December, as usual, but as of January, 2026, we are moving our regular meeting date to the second Wednesday of the month.

NEXT MONTHLY MEETING: JANUARY 14, 2026

Special guest: Christian Urrutia, candidate for Congress District 1.

Plymouth Regional Senior Center, 8 Depot Street, Plymouth

Christian is a New Hampshire-raised experienced human rights and international law attorney, who has taken on hard courtroom battles and won. He is a proud Army National Guard officer, who also defends service members through the military’s Trial Defense Services. Christian has served as a senior national security leader at the Pentagon and is now an advocate for responsible technology policies that address anti-discrimination efforts, human rights, and privacy.

He lives in Moultonborough with his wife Jenn, a small business owner, and their dog Winston.

Christian is running for Congress because too often our government talks about fairness — but falls short when it comes to courageously fighting for working people. That needs to change. He will deliver bold, progressive leadership for New Hampshire.

Pot luck division: (Please bring a dish to share.)

If your last name ends in A–L bring a side dish or dessert; M–Z bring main dish. Please bring the beverage of your choice.

Please note: we tend to be heavy on the desserts, but light on salads, so consider something green.
