DELTA COUNTY UWF GROUP

The Delta Unit of United Women in Faith in the East District is known for their hospitality and mission work. It's no wonder, because it is welcoming each other that unites them, not a common church.

The unit was created in 2006 with women from three different churches in Delta County. Now led by Dolores Jackson, the group is made up of women from the Methodist churches of Enloe, Charleston and Cooper. This active group meets monthly. The meeting location rotates between the three churches. Child Welfare and the Hope House are the focus of their local mission participation.

Did you know that women don't have to belong to your church to be a part of your UWF group? In fact, women don't even need to be Methodists -- and never have! UWF welcomes ALL women in faith to participate. Women join to put love into action to change the world!

THANK YOU, LOCAL PRESIDENTS!

Thanks for Annual Report

Local Groups' Annual Reports

Thank you for submitting reports!

About 80% of our Local Units have submitted their annual reports. Now district teams are compiling the information now to get ready for the District Annual Meetings in September (see the calendar dates).

Has your local unit completed yours? If not, contact your District President. Whatever your situation, she will help. There are several ways to make your report: Click for Online form or download paper form HERE. Or reply to this email with your contact info and someone will call you to help.

DONE THE NATIONAL SURVEY?

This Local Unit Survey is easy to complete online once you've done the Annual Report (above). National needs your input to help guide this organization, so CLICK to take the survey by Aug. 30th!

NEW DBC FOOD MINISTRY FOR NEIGHBORS

DBC Food _ Dinners.png

DALLAS BETHLEHEM CENTER

NEW! Client Choice Food Pantry

& Family Dinners

Dallas Bethlehem Center is proud to launch their new client-choice food pantry. Moving away from a boxed, one-day-a-week distribution model allows DBC to begin building relationships with each neighbor who enters their doors. Along with this new pantry model, DBC is also hosting two Free Family Dinners each week. Many children in South Dallas go to bed hungry each night, so DBC is providing warm, healthy and hearty meals to residents of the 75215 and 75210 zip codes.

Volunteers are needed to help the food pantry and Family Dinners! Pantry hours now include both day-time and evening shopping times: Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5pm to 7pm; and Thursdays from 9am to 3pm. Please contact Annette to volunteer.

2023 MISSION PROJECTS - HOW WILL YOU SUPPORT?

2023 Mission Projects

Two mission projects have been chosen for 2023 -- both do very important mission work! Choose the kind of mission support for your September meetings that works for your group:

    1) Collect items & bring a completed form for Good Neighbor Settlement House in Brownsville, TX, and/or

    2) Send financial support to Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG).

Complete information about both missions is on our website HERE along with how to support them. Plan to bring your collected items/checks to District annual meetings in September and/or the Conference Annual meeting in October.

LOCATION: 7700 Spring Valley Rd, Dallas, TX 75254
