Week 3
A long wait just came to an end, and after 19 months we couldn’t be happier to get back to Tsimane. And the river has welcomed us at its best.
As every beginning, but specially this one, due to non-pressure over almost two years, the early season has been a blast.
Chris and Miles, a couple of fishermen coming from the US, visited us for the very first time and fortunately they found lots of dorado following a run of small baitfish that was coming up along the Secure river.
The week started with nice but high water, good weather conditions and dorado all over the place.
The lower section of the Secure river gave them the chance to catch many fish with top water flies as big poppers or NYAP ones. On the upper section, after a rise happened at midweek, we got many feeding frenzies situations and fortunately our anglers were fast enough to catch many fish.
At the end of the week the water got back to its normal conditions and we went upstream to the headwaters of the Secure river were the sight fishing was amazing. Miles got the biggest fish of the week, a solid 20 pounder that was spotted by our guide Franco and the team of native guides, Chubico and Dionisio.
