Church Pictorial Directory Update
As is the case with many other companies, the company that is producing our church pictorial directory has been deeply affected by the pandemic and our directory has been delayed. However, progress is being made and we are hoping for production and the finished directory soon.

In the meantime, we are pursuing digital options. Please stay tuned for future communication on this. If you have any questions, please contact Cindy Petersiel at
Email Scam Alert
The North Georgia Conference recently sent out a notice that the email addresses of many pastors in the conference had been hacked. People were receiving emails with requests for assistance which contained the pastor's name. The most common email was a request for gift cards. Please be aware that this is a scam.

If you have questions about any email from the church or a staff member, hold your cursor over the name that is listed, and it will show you the email address that sent the message. For more information concerning this scam, please contact Stephanie Shanholtzer at

Please RSVP to Anne Cumings at Books can be purchased by clicking on the graphic.
United Methodist Town Hall on Racism
The United Methodist Church is hosting an online Town Hall discussion on “Dismantling Racism, Pressing on to Freedom” on Wednesday, August 26 at 1:00 pm. The conversation will be with a panel of young United Methodist leaders. These leaders in the movement will discuss their experiences in confronting racism and will name the parallels and distinctions between their historical work and how today’s anti-racism and anti-oppression movements are different, as well as their insights about the church’s role in this work, where the church must lead the prophetic call to justice and the tension between different approaches to this work.

Bishop's Special Offering for 2020
Bishop Sue Haupert-Johnson has named the North Georgia Conference Ministerial Education Fund (MEF) as the 2020 Annual Conference Special Offering. Grants from the Ministerial Education Fund help pay tuition and other costs for future clergy who will serve our churches or go on to be chaplains, teachers, and missionaries. MEF is a general church apportioned fund of which 25 % is retained by the conference. However, 100% of the giving to the annual conference special offering will go to the United Methodist seminaries and students in the North Georgia Conference.
Though your faithfulness through Faith Promise, you have already contributed to this fund. Our mission committee has already set aside the money for this special offering. If you would like to give additional monies, please go online to and select, “Bishop’s Offering” from the drop down menu bar.
Opportunities to Volunteer
Volunteers Needed for Video,
Graphic, and Post-Production Work
No experience necessary! This is a great way to get involved at Tucker First, especially if you like behind the scenes work.

Randy Davison is an amazing volunteer that has been at the forefront of the worship videos you see every week as well as leading the team of volunteers involved with the Sanctuary sound board (when we worship in-person together). He will be leading a training for all those interested in videotaping, developing pre- and post- graphics for the online video, and helping with the sound board when we are back worshiping together.

If you are interested in being part of the audio visual ministry at Tucker First, please contact Stephanie Shanholtzer at
Sewing Challenge Has Been Made!
Thank you to the lovely lady in our church who has completed thirty masks! She has set the bar high for the rest of the sewers. Who can rise to meet a challenge!

Masks help us stay safe as we gather together again. We are looking for volunteers to sew reusable fabric face masks for our church family to use when we return to in-person service

If you don't sew but want to help, feel free to donate cotton fabric! You can contact Emma Vautrot to join the effort or to donate at 706-936-4863 or
More Volunteer Opportunities

Additionally, our mission team has many opportunities for you to volunteer through donations or in-person assistance. Whether you are staying at home or are comfortable getting out, there is an opportunity for you.
