Wesley Woods Mother's Day
Offering Postponed
The annual Mother's Day offering for Wesley Woods has been postponed by the North Georgia Conference of the UMC until Sunday, August 23.
Mother's Day Was Started by a
United Methodist Mother and Daughter
Statistics say that $20.7 billion will be spent on moms in honor of the U.S. holiday that falls on the second Sunday in May: Mother's Day. All that cash and commercialism goes against everything the women who originated the idea wanted.

If you clock on the, "Did You Know Graphic," you will go a video and meet the Methodist mother and daughter team who worked to create a day to honor a mother's love and to emphasize how important a mother's role is in building a peaceful world.
John Wesley's Letters to His Mother
In the days of John Wesley, founder of the Methodist movement, the technology available was vastly different than today's emails, video chats, and zoom meetings.

Because it was the 1700s, he wrote letters when he wanted to chat with his mother Susanna. Click on her image to watch a video about their letters.

Prayer Study Continues Online
On Sunday, May 3, the Lenten Prayer Study group finished their first pass through the material they were using. However, the material was too rich to be completely mined in the first pass, so they have decided to begin again …AND YOU ARE INVITED TO JOIN THEM.

The Call to Prayer is both universal and individual. The importance of prayer has united christian disciples through the centuries and across cultures. At the same time, the experience of prayer is uniquely individual. It is in our quiet moments alone with God that we experience what it is like to love and be loved by God. It is in these moments that the individual Christian discerns God’s call on their life for that day.

The group will be meeting via Zoom on Sundays at 5:00 pm beginning May 17. For questions and Zoom meeting info, please contact Claire Wheeler at drclairewheeler@gmail.com.
How You Can Help
Corners Outreach Does Lawns!
Throughout the year, our Children First mission program, provides homework help volunteers to Corners Outreach. We would like to highlight another part of the Corners program – Corners Industries Lawn Services. The company employs the parents of students and allows them to be paid better wages and work less hours so they can take a bigger role in their children's lives. If you are interested in having your yard cut or have landscaping needs, request an online quote by going to

NETWorks Needs For This Week

In the wake of the pandemic, the church office is closed. If you need to drop your tithe off at the church, please use the locked mailbox in the front of the church. It is checked daily. All church staff receive an email notification when a voicemail is left on their office phone extensions, and they will still be available to the congregation by email. If you need their email addresses, you can find them on the church website at www.tuckerfirst.org .
