Be a Tucker First Prayer Warrior
"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayer requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people." Ephesians 6:18
One way we can show our love for others is through our prayers for them and on behalf of them. That is what the intercessory prayer team does. This group of dedicated individuals lifts up to God the prayer requests sent into our church each week. The prayer requests will be sent to you each week so you can pray for our church and our community on your own schedule. If you are interested, please contact Stephanie Shanholtzer at sshanholtzer@tfumc.org.
Amazon Wish List for Weekday Preschool
Our Tucker First Weekday Preschool has developed a wish list on Amazon.com of books and items that they would like to have. This is a wonderful project for a Sunday School class or small group. You can find. the list online at https://tinyurl.com/preschoolwish
Music & Arts News
“For such a time as this” the Music and Arts Ministry at Tucker First UMC is committed to continue making music that honors and worships God. We just have to do it differently!

For the past several months, Tom Moore, Tucker First Director of Music & Arts, has shared with many of our musicians that we need not focus on what we can’t do, but on what we can do! When we think and act creatively, there’s a lot that we can do together. Here are some opportunities that might interest you:

  • Be a part of a virtual choir!
  • Sing as part of a small ensemble (3-4 people)
  • Play or sing in The Table worship - modern worship
  • Help sing songs for Sunday morning videos
  • Participate as a musician in the traditional worship videos
  • Play handbells!

To find out more about our Music and Arts Ministry and ways to participate, click on the Soli Deo Gloria graphic above or contact Tom Moore, Director of Music & Arts at tom_moore@tfumc.org.

Night of Awareness
No one person, congregation, or denomination can do everything. Each of us can do something to help in the fight! According to the CDC, one in four girls and one in six boys will be sexually exploited by age eighteen. Please join Tucker First UMC, along with Street Grace, for an online "Night of Awareness,” on Tuesday, September 29 from 5:30 pm-6:30 pm.
This free program will focus on how you can help eradicate the commercial sexual exploitation of children in our communities. Local law enforcement will provide updates and there will be an opportunity for questions and answers. Street Grace is a faith-driven organization collaborating with faith, business and community leaders as well as providing a comprehensive path to end the sexual exploitation of minors.
You can find out more about them at www.streetgrace.org.

Fourth Street Sidewalk Update
You may have noticed extensive road work around the church, particularly down Fourth Street. The goal of the project is to install sidewalks along the sides of the street to make the area more pedestrian friendly. Since Tucker First’s boundary on Fourth Street is a parking lot directly accessed from the road, sidewalks will not be installed there. Instead, there will be a repaved driveway in front of the parking spaces that will still be directly accessed from the road.

The project will basically be a cleaned up version of what is there now. On the corners, where there are curbs, ramped sidewalk will be installed for wheelchair access to crosswalks. The portion of the project that directly affects the church will be complete before the end of September. If you are parking at the church in the next couple of weeks, please do not park in the lot lines up along Fourth Street. We are excited for the spiffing up around Tucker and in our immediate area! Please contact Cindy Petersiel if you have any questions at cpetersiel@tfumc.org
