Kathy Moser
Tuesday, April 12th at 7:00 pm
Online - Free Admission - Freewill Donation
Kathy Moser is a force of nature. This local phenom speaks her heart with a powerful, creative voice that paints clear and poignant pictures of her soul and the world around her. When Moser takes the stage, she takes the audience with her on a journey where every song speaks a personal truth. She personifies why musicians are called artists.
Kathy has been in love with music and Planet Earth as long as she can remember. Her introduction to folk music happened at Girl Scout camp, which led her to the coffeehouse scene. Distressed by her inability to play guitar while sitting on that ubiquitous four-legged stool found on every folk stage, she wandered over for a record or two into something looking a little more like rock. But realizing she missed her tribe, she wandered back to her acoustic roots with a guitar strap and never looked back.
An award-winning songwriter, engaging performer and passionate environmentalist, Kathy is dedicated to bringing positive change to the world through music both on and off stage.

Fridays in Morristown

Fantastic Music
Fridays in April, May, June, July, August...
Morristown in person & Online everywhere else
Music feeds the soul. Your soul needs feeding. The virus has no soul. It doesn't give a hoot or a holler that every Friday you should be out hootin' and hollerin'. My first reaction is "Pluck you, Virus." My second reaction is "Somebody, quick, give me a hug." My third reaction is "Ouch," because Robin just let me know she doesn't want me hugging just anybody. My fourth reaction is "Thank goodness The Folk Project is open every Friday."
Open Stage has been on a roll for months, and led off April with its biggest nights yet. We followed that up with a memorable concert by the legendary Tom Paxton and the DonJuans. But the heart of our community is our regular Friday get-togethers, and The Troubadour Acoustic Concert Series is back in action on Fridays with a superb and exciting lineup.
Here's the rest of April:
-
4/15 The Everly Set and Forever Simon & Garfunkel - If your life is lacking in fun, fun, fun, this will be a night of Vitamin Yippy.
-
4/22 Joe Jencks with The Levins - Joe's soulful voice and meaningful message will fill your heart, as the Levins deliver a big dose of excitement.
-
4/29 Low Lily with Juliana Parker - Action-packed instrumentals and harmonies done with exquisite artistry, and opener Juliana - a Project-family pro - providing her regular dose of splendid energy and delight.
A lot of people ask how the Troubadour manages a $10 admission. I'm more interested in WHY? The answer is YOU. We want you to come as often as possible. We will do our best to make it a great experience and well worth your while.

Members' Music Party
Sharing Songs & Eating Carbs in a Living Room
|
Evening of Music
Saturday, May 14th 8:00 pm
Essex County, NJ
If you joined our tribe of wandering troubadours during the pandemic, you're familiar with our Monday online song circles led by the charismatic and charming Jay Wilensky. What you may not know is that for half a century, the Project has had a tradition of meeting monthly in a member's home to share music, eat snacks and socialize IN PERSON! (You remember "in person," right?) And Jay, our friendly neighborhood chairman, is in charge of the program.
Every month - COVID willing - we'll once again be meeting on the second Saturday of the month in a living room of Jay's choice to share and listen to our own music. These are some of the finest events the Folk Project has to offer - the most intimate of music made by friends at a friend's home.
Bring your axe, your voice, your ears, and a snack or drink to share.
Here are three critical datum:
- This is a members-only event. Members can bring guests.
- The party is held in a different members' home every month. The address is in your monthly membership newsletter. It's another good reason to join and support us. CLICK TO JOIN.
- All Folk Project events require proof of vaccination. This particular event will require masks when not leading a song.
We hope to see you there. It will be wonderful.
