Lafayette Downtown Mural Unveiling
The City of Lafayette warmly invites you to celebrate the unveiling of the first mural in the Lafayette Downtown Mural Program, created by artist Rachel Perls. This vibrant new work reflects a commitment to creativity and public art, and they are excited to share it with the community.
Thank you to Rachel Perls, Julie Del Santo and Dudum Real Estate Group for providing the wall, ABG Projects for bringing the mural to life, and to the Public Art Committee, City Council, and Lafayette residents for their continued support of the arts. The Lafayette School District Governing Board Budget Seeking Input
The Lafayette School District Governing Board will hold a Special Study Session on Wednesday, January 28, from 4-7pm in the Stanley Middle School Library to continue deliberations on budget reduction proposals for the 2026–27 school year. The draft lists include potential reductions to key positions such as classroom aides, library and PE specialists, an elementary assistant principal, and school and district staff. Community members are encouraged to attend in person, or via Zoom using via THIS LINK, to stay informed and engaged.
Additional opportunities for involvement include an upcoming Virtual Town Hall on February 4 at 5:00pm using THIS LINK, a community feedback survey in early February, ongoing discussions about Measure L, and continued support of Lafayette Partners in Education (LPIE).
