THE EAR GATE
 
Our soul, which is our mind (thought processes), intellect, will and emotions, is affected by what our physical senses signal to us. We could call these senses “gates” or gateways.” What our senses “feed” us impacts how we feel, think, and act. It is important what we process and how the “input” affects us.
 
A very important input comes through our “ear gate.” Some things we hear from our environment we have no control  of that input, but if it is bad, then we can modify it. For example, if we hear someone use a curse word, we can “replay” that dialogue in our head and substitute a non-vulgar word for the vulgar one. The non-vulgar word becomes the input. That is the technique I used throughout my lifetime. It kept my speech wholesome  . ..  continue reading
