We are expanding the number of worship services for Easer Sunday! We will have Traditional and The Journey Worship Services at 8:30am and 11:00am on April 4 in celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. We encourage those planning on attending in-person Easter services to register for your preferred service. We anticipate higher than usual attendance and want to plan for appropriate socially distant seating between families. Registration will end on March 31 at midnight.

THE SEASON OF LENT
Lent is a season of reflection and preparation, repentance and fasting. By observing the 40 days of Lent, we replicate Jesus Christ's sacrifice and withdrawal into the desert for 40 days.
The Society of St. Andrew is providing 2021 Lenten Devotional Booklets with devotionals, activities for families, inspiring stories and information about our faith. You can download the booklet and sign up to receive daily email devotions on their website. We invite you to read and give in support of the Society of St. Andrew’s feeding ministries during this Lenten season, reflecting Jesus’ own concern for the least, the last and the lost.

FAITH PROMISE 2021
Through our annual Faith Promise missions giving, we partner with global, national and local life-changing ministries. Please check out these videos from Celebrate Recovery, Fountain City Ministry Center and Samaritan Hands, three of our Faith Promise partners as they share a little bit about the great work they are doing in their communities. We will continue to highlight Faith Promise partners in future E-Spirits, and in our March and April editions of The Spirit newsletter. Please go to our website to fill out your Faith Promise For Missions commitment card. Faith Promise Sunday is the fourth Sunday each month. Every commitment Makes Disciples and Changes Lives!

LENTEN STUDIES
We are offering two Adult Discipleship options during the season of Lent as we seek to continue to actively be Disciples.
|
|
1) The cross is the central symbol of the Christian faith. But what exactly did Jesus do to save us from our sins? Why was the cross necessary, and what does it mean for us today? In Savior: What the Bible Says About the Cross, Magrey deVega faithfully describes the need for reconciliation between humankind and a holy God through Jesus’ death on the cross. This study is from 6:30–7:30 pm on Wednesdays during Lent. It is led by FCUMC Certified Lay Speaker, Sandy Failing. Please join us by using this Zoom link each Wednesday through March 31.
|
|
2) During Lent each year, Christians give up something as an act of sacrifice and spiritual discipline. James W. Moore challenges readers to give up something spiritually that they would be better off not doing. He invites all to seek God’s help to focus on eliminating one habit or attitude that is destructive. Please join Pastor Kristen and Ms. Donna as we seek to prepare to give up something bad while appearing to fully embrace the “God News” of Easter. The interactive video lessons are posted Mondays at noon on our FCUMC facebook pages and our YouTube channel.
