Spring Garden Waldorf School’s resident artist, Sarah McMahon, in collaboration with each classroom teacher and all grades students, created eight curriculum-inspired artistic doorways as a part of our Ohio Arts Council Grant.
Sarah worked with students of each grade, at an appropriate developmental level, to teach art techniques, color theory, perspective drawing, art history and more as they created individual art projects and collaborated to create doorway-specific projects with Sarah, their teacher and their classmates.

Before and Aftercare 2022-23
|
|
Before and Aftercare will be available for children from the age of 3 through 8th grade as a pre-registered and prepaid service for the 2022-23 school year. Space will be limited to 6 students in early childhood and 20 students in the grades. Beforecare will begin at 7:30 a.m. and students will remain in beforecare until they transition to morning recess at the start of the school day. Aftercare will begin at 3:30 p.m. and be available until 6 p.m.
Our priority, as always, is to address the needs of the individual child and we recognize the extended time and transitions may be difficult for some children who are not developmentally ready for an extended day. In this instance, a child may not be able to attend before or aftercare until they are developmentally ready for it to be a healthy and positive experience.
The minimum amount of use will be 50 hours ($300) for beforecare and 100 hours ($600) for aftercare.
Below are sign up links:
Contact the office if you have any questions!

Do you…
Have a passion for gardening? Enjoy working together as a family?
Need a way to fulfill your service hours that is flexible with your schedule?
We have an opportunity for you! Adopt one of the flower beds listed below and take care of keeping it weeded from now through November and again in the spring through June! Keep track of your hours online using the link at the bottom of the Tuesday note. This would easily be a way to meet your service hour goal without ever coming to a scheduled work day.
Beds to be adopted:
Main entrance sign
Traffic circle
Under the windows along the sidewalk
Under the windows on the south side of the building
Under the classroom windows on the west side of the building
If you would like to adopt a bed, please email learn@sgws.org. We will be in touch to confirm.

"True education aims to serve the needs of the whole human being, Head, Heart and Hands are brought into a particular relationship with each other in the practice of handwork and crafts. In these lessons pupils have the opportunity to ‘tangibly grasp’ the world and give expression to their latent creativity. Handwork also brings order to the materials used and bestows order upon the maker."
- Bernard Graves, author of Crafting: Transforming Materials & the Maker
