Message from the Head of School
I am unable to find adequate words to thank our faculty and staff for the Herculean job they have been doing with skill, dedication, humor, and optimism. Our teachers are cheerfully using their time and talents to make this difficult situation one that is productive and reassuring for our students. Perhaps I am most grateful for the continued understanding, support, and encouragement from our parents. Your feedback to us about the launch of distance learning yesterday has been gracious and supportive, and we will continue to welcome your input and suggestions for ways we can improve.

In short, I could not be prouder of those who work for Jackson Academy and its children nor more thankful for those families who choose Jackson Academy as their school. As I told my counterpart at another school, these are truly trying and uncertain times, but when you work with great people, it makes all the difference in the world.

Most sincerely,
Jack Milne
JA Names 2020-21 Jernberg Scholarship Recipient
Jackson Academy announced today that JA freshman Bailey Berry has been named a Jernberg Scholar. The scholarship celebrates JA President Emeritus Peter Jernberg’s significant influence on independent education with the hope that each recipient will, in turn, become an individual who makes an impact on his or her school and community through academics and character.

JA Distance Learning Goes Live
Monday, JA students joined teachers and fellow students in Google Meet sessions, viewed video devotionals to begin their day, and began working through carefully prepared lesson plans. Technology use in the classroom has been a priority of Jackson Academy for years, and those years of preparation have made the school uniquely structured to make the best of the situation presented by COVID-19. Online learning will be a blended model of new and traditional learning strategies.

Prom Notes From Faculty Member Rebecca Fowler
We have made the difficult decision to postpone prom that was scheduled for Saturday, April 4. I apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment that I know this decision brings. Many of you have already made reservations for restaurants and transportation. I would like to encourage you to support these private businesses by asking if your reservations and deposits can be used at a later date, rather than refunded. If there is anything that we can do to help you in these matters, please do not hesitate to contact  me, or Upper School Head of School  Steve McCartney

It is our hope that we will feel comfortable and confident enough to have this event by the end of the school year, if possible. Any information about this will go out in due course. Until then, we appreciate your understanding and hope that all of you stay healthy and safe in the coming weeks! As always, Go Raiders!
Color Me Raider
Color Me Raider scheduled for March 26 is postponed. Please watch for more information as it becomes available from the JA Athletic Booster Club.
