The Destin Chamber's Board of Directors recently took a position against two bills currently being debated in the Florida Legislature and sent letters detailing concerns to Gov. Rick Scott, Sen. George Gainer, and Rep. Mel Ponder. House Bill 773 gives control of short-term rentals to the state and removes home rule. House Bill 585 and Senate Bill 658 seek to expand the use of Tourist Development Tax dollars to include funding for infrastructure projects.
