Dear STS Parents,

This  Thursday, 12/15 is the Annual Christmas Dinner & Concert. There will be a delicious pasta dinner provided by Business Partner Pizza Margarita (Gainesville) beginning at 4:45 p.m. (in the school gym and cafeteria), followed by a concert in the church at 6:00 p.m. We are asking all students to report to their classrooms at 5:30 p.m. so they will walk over to the church with their classes. If your student is in the Choir Elective, Cecelia Choir or 6th Grade Choir they can meet outside the front office near the pond hallway. They will all walk over together. Following the concert, students will be dismissed from the church, please do not bring any jackets to the classroom. If you would like to send in desserts they can be dropped off during morning carpool or in the afternoon carpool. Students are encouraged to wear their Sunday Best for the concert.

We also invite all of our families to join us for the STS Christmas Band Concert on Wednesday, 12/14 at 7 PM, in the gym and the annual STS Christmas   Para-liturgy on Monday, 12/19 at 1:45 p.m. in the church. Come see our Kindergarten angels and the Holy Family, and join us in singing joyous Christmas songs. A special thanks to Mrs. Salinas for her efforts in organizing and preparing our students for this year's Christmas Programs. We hope these events get you into the Christmas spirit!

Tomorrow, Wednesday, 12/14, students are encouraged to come dressed in attire representing true Christmas Spirit. Given that this is the season of giving, we also encourage each student to bring in a donation for Catholic Charities (Please note that Pajamas are not permitted). P lease note that our 8th grade students will have their own Christmas Spirit Dress Day on Tuesday, 12/20.  The student Government is trying to beat last year's total of $2,100, raised for the Arlington Diocese Catholic Charities! Thank you for supporting this worthwhile cause and for your continued generosity!

A special word of thanks to STS Business partner, Mr. Tim Curtin for his generous donation to our school! If you are in need of a mortgage, please contact Tim at Americorp Mortgage Services.

Thanks again to Mr. Paul Hunter for yet another generous contribution to STS. If you are in the market to purchase or sell a house, Paul and RE/MAX Gateway Realty are incredibly service oriented and would love to hear from you. We greatly appreciate Paul's continuous generosity to and support of our school. Thanks so much Paul!

Thank you to Guapos Restaurant for their $1,000 donation to our school for our recent Spirit Day, and thank you to everyone who turned out to support the STS Guapos Spirit Day.

A special thank you also to  Mrs. Tara Pollock, the PTO Executive Board and our amazing parent volunteers for coordinating and facilitating this year's Santa's workshop for our students. The children really enjoyed shopping for their family members.

It's the time of year when we start experiencing inclement winter weather conditions. This is a reminder that our Inclement weather policy if located on our school website Click here for policy. Please also note that in the event of a two hour delayed opening of the school, we ask that students please bring a packed lunch, thanks in advance for your consideration. Also,  If there is a two-hour delayed opening, the morning pre-K session will have school from 10:00 - 12:00 and the afternoon session will have school from 1:15 - 3:15.

We are looking to hire a part time person for a part-time After Care Position starting in January. The hours are 3-6 pm Mon- Fri and occasionally 11:30-4:00 pm on Fridays. Great for college students. Please contact Elise Facciolo if you're interested.

If you are interested in serving on our school climate committee, please contact our school counselor, Mrs. Beth Henry. This committee is responsible for planning and facilitiating parent education programs.

Our Mission Commission Club will be decorating at the National Shrine of Our Lady (in Washington DC) on December 19th. All families are encouraged to attend and assist with the decorations, contact Mrs. Gott for details.

Families who will be in need of tuition assistance for the next school year are encouraged to begin the application process now.  Details can be found  here
If you have any questions about the process, please reach out to Mrs. Irons.

Thank you for your continued support of our wonderful school. I pray that God will bless you and your family during this Advent season!

There have been absences due to fevers only and upper respiratory infections. We have also had a handful of pneumonia in the Kindergarten. There is a bad cold, cough, sore throat virus affecting the students and teachers. They often have low grade fevers and have to take a couple days rest. Should symptoms or fever persist longer than the normal 7-10 days, a doctor's visit may be needed.
