Dear Parents,

The date for our first School Expansion Town Hall Meeting has been rescheduled. The new date for the meeting is Thursday, May 11th at 6:00 PM in the school Library.

There are many exciting academic initiatives happening throughout our school, for an update on these activities, please read Mr. Pryor's Academic Newsletter.

Now that Spring has officially arrived, we will be hosting (non-alcoholic) "Happy
Ho urs"  every Friday afternoon   beginning at 2:15 PM.
friendly friday
After you've lined up in the carpool line,  in front of the school,   we ask that you please leave your car and come join us for  refreshments and fellowship in the McGiveney Room We are calling this new program Operation Friendly Friday. We hope you can join us this Friday.

I would like to thank our wonderful PTO Board for   sponsoring a "Laser Science" assembly for our students in grades 4-8 on Monday, May 1 at 1:30pm in the school gym.
For more information on this special assembly, please click on the  Laser Science  website:

Please note that new wall mats have been installed in the gym to enhance student safety during our PE classes. A special word of thanks to Mr. Craig Webb and his facilities team for installing the new mats, they look great.
Given that we only used one snow day this year, the schedule for our last week of school has changed. The new schedule is as follows:
  • Monday, 6/12 is a half day. This is the final day for all makeup work and exams.
  • Tuesday, 6/13 is a half day; class parties and our yearbook signing will occur on this day.
  • Wednesday, 6/14 is a half day and is our last day of school for students. This is also moving up day for students. We will schedule a moving up day for rising 1st grade students in August.
Mrs. Henry, our guidance counselor, is planning a half day spiritual retreat for STS parents the second week of May; details are forthcoming.
Saint Timothy Catholic School remains committed to providing our students with an individualized, supportive, faith based learning environment. I greatly appreciate your active support of our wonderful school.

As always I welcome your comments, questions and suggestions.
  God Bless You,
Mr. Joseph M. McLaughlin

Clinic Tuesday Tidbits

Happy Easter! We hope that you all had a restful, safe and blessed Easter vacation!

In clinic news:
gym mats
The concrete walls in the gym are now lined with protective mats!  The wall mats will help
prevent many injuries and protect our students from harm.

Allergy season is in full swing and we are seeing lots of red, itchy eyes because of the high pollen count these last few weeks. Please encourage your child not to rub or scratch at their eyes as this can lead to conjunctivitis, which is an inflammation of the outermost layer of the eyeball and the inner surface of the eye lid. Taking daily allergy medicine such as Claritin or Zyrtec, cool compresses, allergy eye drops and limiting outdoor exposure on high pollen count days are some ways to combat this problem.

Reminder for 5th grade Parents: Rising 6th graders: The State of Virginia requires a TDaP booster immunization prior to entering 6th grade. It may be helpful to make your appointment now and hand in proof of immunization before the end of the school hear. Otherwise it must be submitted before thefirst day of 6th grade

Have a blessed week!

Mrs. Mary K. Rogowski, MSN, RN, FNP
