Lincoln Park Zoological Society: Spring is in the air and so is the need to tidy up the Lincoln Park Zoo! If you’ve ever thought about getting involved with the zoo, then consider volunteering at our Spring Cleanup! On Saturday, May 3rd from 10:00am–2:00pm, we’ll be rolling up our sleeves to spruce up the entire zoo grounds and give the Education Center a makeover, inside and out. Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum: Exhibit Reception, "Kathleen O'Connell: Hand-Lettering as Creative Practice" Thursday, May 1st, 5:00–7:00pm. Join us at the museum to hear artist Kathleen O'Connell speak about her hand-lettering work currently on display in the gallery. Her exhibit comprises two wall installations of multiple pages, and a vitrine with 5 of her sketchbooks. There will also be a hands-on station where you can play with different drawing materials!
