Manitowoc County Kennel Club has some summer suggestions to keep your pets safe. High temperatures can affect pets throughout summer, both inside parked vehicles and out. Help prevent dehydration in pets by always providing access to clean, fresh water. Bring pet water bottles or pop-up bowls on outings and take frequent breaks. Check forecasts before heading out and know when to call trips short or leave pets home. Never leave your dog or other pet in a parked car, even if the temperature outside doesn’t feel that hot.

The Safety Health and Wellness Committee: Be prepared to save a life—learn CPR and how to use an AED. Cardiac emergencies can happen anywhere, and quick action can double or triple survival chances. Know your workplace or community AED locations and don’t hesitate to act—AEDs provide clear, step-by-step instructions. Taking a few minutes to learn these skills can make a life-saving difference when every second counts.

Mindful Moment: Regular movement is one of the simplest ways to support both your physical and mental well-being. Consistent activity can help lower stress, regulate cortisol levels, reduce inflammation, improve sleep, boost energy, and enhance your mood. Aim for 20–30 minutes of movement most days and remember that consistency matters more than intensity. Stretch regularly to ease tension, take short walking or standing breaks throughout the day, and pair exercise with stress-relief practices like deep breathing or mindfulness. Small, daily habits can make a big difference in how you feel.
