Coptic bookbinding is one of the oldest methods for sewing books. During this workshop you will craft a book from scratch and learn how to use the Coptic stitch to bind your signatures together. You will learn how to cover boards with decorative paper to create the front and back covers which will be sewn to your signatures. On Sunday, June 1st at 2:00pm, the Wisconsin Maritime Museum will host a free presentation of The Six: The Untold Story of the TITANIC’s Chinese Survivors with author Steven Schwankert. This powerful program explores the lives of six Chinese men who survived the Titanic disaster and were nearly erased from history. Special guest Tom Fong, son of survivor Fang Lang, will share personal insights. A must-attend for history buffs and those interested in uncovering overlooked stories of resilience and survival.
